Abstract
Methods and systems for preventing or minimizing the death of algae in algae growth systems in the event of a loss of power comprise automated selective alteration of operating parameters of the growth system to minimize the impact of the loss of power.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method for minimizing algae death in the event of a power failure in an algae growth system comprising the steps of determining, on a substantially continuous basis when operating, whether power has failed, in the event of a power failure, automatically under processor control expanding the culture temperature tolerances appropriate for the particular strains of algae being grown, adjusting pH under processor control to maximize culture viability, and switching from continuos to intermittent air mixing.
