Cap for a container
Abstract
Cap intended to be secured to the mouth ( 20 ) or neck of a container, particularly a bottle ( 2 ), containing a more or less liquid product. It comprises a cap body ( 1 ) of plastic of cylindrical overall shape, one of the ends ( 11 ) of which is open to accept the mouth ( 20 ) of the bottle ( 2 ) and the other end of which consists of at least one end wall ( 10 ) forming a means of dispensing the product contained in the said bottle ( 2 ) and in which end wall at least one orifice ( 15 ) is made, the said cap body ( 1 ) containing a cylindrically or slightly frustoconically-shaped means of closing off the mouth ( 20 ).
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . Cap intended to be secured to container containing a more or less liquid product, comprising:
a cap body having a cylindrical overall shape, one of the ends of which is open to accept a mouth of the container and the other end of which consists of at least one end wall forming at least one dispensing orifice in the end wall; and the cap body comprising a cylindrically or slightly frustoconically-shaped member closing off the mouth, the member surrounding the mouth in a sealed manner while at the same time being capable of being moved axially from a closed position in which the closing-off member is fitted tightly into the mouth of the container to an open position for dispensing the liquid, in which position the closing-off member is freed, and vice versa, the axial movement of the cap body being limited by the end wall which comes into abutment with the edge of the mouth of the container when the cap is in the closed position and by at least one stop secured to the internal face of the cylindrical wall of the cap body coming into abutment with at least one stop member secured to the external face of the mouth of the bottle when the cap is in the open position.
2 . Cap according to claim 1 , made as a single piece of plastic.
3 . Cap according to claim 1 , wherein the stop secured to the internal face of the cylindrical wall of the cap body constitutes, with the stop member secured to the external face of the mouth of the container, snap-fastening means.
4 . Cap according to claim 1 , wherein the stop secured to the internal face of the cylindrical wall of the cap body and the stop member secured to the external face of the mouth are each in the form of an annular flange.
5 . Cap according to claim 4 , wherein the annular flange comprises a flat face perpendicular to the axis of the cap and a chamfered face.
6 . Cap according to claim 1 , wherein the end wall of the cap body has one or several dispensing orifices located between the closing-off member and the cylindrical wall.
7 . Cap according to claim 1 , wherein the end wall of the cap body is flat or substantially flat.
8 . Cap according to claim 1 , comprising an external extension of the end wall of the cap body comprising a secondary wall connected to the end wall in a sealed manner, in the middle of which secondary wall a secondary orifice is formed for dispensing the product contained in the container.
9 . Cap according to claim 8 , wherein the secondary wall is substantially flat or in the form of a mushroom cap.
10 . Cap according to claim 1 , comprising an internal extension of the end wall of the cap body consisting of a cylindrical skirt secured to the internal face of the end wall around the closing-off member concentrically with respect to the axis of the cap and of a diameter substantially equal to the external diameter of the mouth of the container, the height of the skirt being defined in such a way that this skirt remains in contact with the mouth of the container when the cap is in the open position and in that the end wall comprises a central circular orifice, the cylindrically-shaped closing-off member being closed at its free end to prevent the product contained in the container from passing when the cap is in the closed position, the orifices are made in the cylindrical wall of the closing-off member so that the product can pass towards the central product-dispensing orifice when the cap is in the open position.
11 . Cap according to claim 1 , comprising, on the internal face of the cylindrical wall of the cap body, at least one annular sealing bulge designed to enhance the sealing between the cap and the container and/or to limit the build-up, in the cap body, of dust or other undesirable substances liable to adversely affect cap hygiene.
12 . Cap according to claim 1 , which is detachably secured, by virtue of a tamperproofing ring, to the mouth of the container before it is actually used.
13 . Cap according to claim 12 , wherein the tamperproofing ring is connected by at least a weakened region of material to the free end edge of the cap body so as to make the cap body easier to detach from the tamperproofing ring which is molded as one with the cap body and, once the cap is in place, held firmly secured to the mouth of the container by an annular retaining member.
14 . Cap according to claim 1 , wherein the end wall of the cap body extends laterally beyond the cylindrical wall of the cap body to form a rim, giving the user a better purchase on the cap.
15 . Cap according to claim 1 , comprising a protective element intended to cover the dispensing orifice or orifices so as to protect them.
16 . Cap according to claim 15 , wherein the protective element is a lid or a removable film.
17 . Cap according to claim 1 , wherein the dispensing orifice has an annular shape.
18 . Cap according to claim 1 , wherein the dispensing orifice consists of a succession of circular orifices distributed concentrically around the axis of the cap.
19 . Cap according to claim 1 , wherein the end wall comprises at least one protrusion extending in an outwardly direction from the external face of the end wall.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
