Abstract
Novel compositions, as well as related methods, coatings, and articles, are disclosed.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An article, comprising:
an object; and a coating supported by a surface of the object, the coating comprising a polymer and a metal oxide precursor wherein the metal oxide precursor is about 50% to about 99% of the total volume of the metal oxide precursor and the polymer.
2 . The article of claim 1 , wherein the metal oxide precursor comprises an organometallic, a metal alkoxide, a metal diketonate, a metal neodecanoate or a metal salt.
3 . The article of claim 2 , wherein the metal oxide precursor comprises a titanium organometallic, a vanadium organometallic, a zinc organometallic, a zirconium organometallic, a silver organometallic, niobium organometallic or a tantalum organometallic.
4 . The article of claim 3 , wherein the metal oxide precursor comprises titanium tetraisopropoxide, silver neodecanoate or vanadium oxytripropoxide.
5 . The article of claim 1 , wherein the polymer comprises a polysiloxane, a polyurethane, a poly(ethylene oxide), a polyacrylamide, a polypeptide, a polysaccharide, or a combination or a copolymer thereof.
6 . The article of claim 5 , wherein the polymer comprises a poly(dimethylsiloxane).
7 . The article of claim 6 , wherein the polymer comprises a functionalized poly(dimethylsiloxane).
8 . The article of claim 1 , wherein the metal oxide precursor is about 60% to about 97% of the total volume of the metal oxide precursor and the polymer.
9 . The article of claim 1 , wherein the article is a medical device.
10 . The article of claim 9 , wherein the medical device is a medical implant.
11 . The article of claim 10 , wherein the medical implant is an intramedullary bone fracture plate, external fixation pin or bone screw.
12 . The article of claim 10 , wherein the medical implant is a device for transferring a liquid, a gas, or electro-magnetic energy; a catheter; or an endotracheal tube or a pacemaker lead.
13 . The article of claim 9 , wherein the medical device is a wound dressing or bandage.
14 . The article of claim 9 , wherein the medical device is selected from a group consisting of: wound closure devices, blades, needles, forceps, drills, bone cutters, electro-surgical device, endoscope, and operating equipment.
15 . The article of claim 10 , wherein the medical implant is selected from a group consisting of: transepithelial implants, dental implants, facial reconstruction implants, cosmetic/plastic surgery implants, subcutaneous implants, percutaneous implants, bone implants, artificial joints, abutments, blood contact devices, intramedullary devices, and engineered tissues.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
