Abstract

Stem holders are attached to opposing sides of the headwear crown, each forming an opening extending from its front edge to its back edge. The front and back edges of each stem holder may be partially attached to the crown such that the opening is larger along the front than along the back. At least a portion of the opening may be angled downward from front to back. For brimmed headwear, a raised flair may be positioned on the brim to create a pocket between it and the crown. For brimless headwear, the raised flair may be attached to the front of the crown to form a pocket between it and at least a portion of the crown. In either the brimmed or brimless configuration, the lens portion of the glasses will rest in the pocket when the stems of the glasses are inserted into the stem holders.

         17 . Headwear with features for holding a pair of glasses thereon, the pair of glasses having stems and a lens portion, the headwear comprising:
 a crown having stem holders on opposing sides thereof, wherein each stem holder is designed to receive one of the stems of the pair of glasses;   a brim attached to the crown, said brim having a brim width that extends substantially between the opposing sides of the crown and a brim height;   a raised flair on the brim running along the brim width and creating a pocket between the raised flair and the crown, said pocket for receiving the lens portion of the pair of glasses; and   wherein the raised flair is tallest relative to the brim height at its center point and tapers in height relative to the brim height towards each of its ends.   
     
     
         18 . . The headwear of  claim 17 , wherein the raised flair is shaped in the form of an arc. 
     
     
         19 . The headwear of  claim 18 , wherein the arch-shaped raised flair has two ends and a center point and wherein the two ends are positioned closer to the crown than is the center point. 
     
     
         20 . The headwear of  claim 17 , wherein the brim comprises an inner support structure covered by a cover material; and
 wherein the raised flair is formed as part of the inner support structure.   
     
     
         21 . The headwear of  claim 20 , wherein the raised flair is at least partially covered by the cover material when the brim is fully constructed. 
     
     
         22 . The headwear of  claim 17 , wherein the brim comprises an inner support structure covered by a cover material; and
 wherein the raised flair is attached to the inner support structure.   
     
     
         23 . The headwear of  claim 22 , wherein the raised flair is at least partially covered by the cover material when the brim is fully constructed. 
     
     
         24 . Headwear with features for holding a pair of glasses thereon, the headwear comprising:
 a crown;   a brim attached to the crown, said brim having a brim width that extends substantially between opposing sides of the crown and a brim height;   a raised flair on the brim running along the width of the brim and creating a pocket between the raised flair and the crown, said pocket for receiving a lens portion of the pair of glasses; and   wherein the raised flair is tallest relative to the brim height at its center point and tapers in height relative to the brim height towards each of its ends.   
     
     
         25 . The headwear of  claim 24  wherein the raised flair is shaped in the form of an arc.

         29 . The headwear of  claim 24 , wherein the brim comprises an inner support structure covered by a cover material; and
 wherein the raised flair is attached to the inner support structure.   
     
     
         30 . The headwear of  claim 29 , wherein the raised flair is at least partially covered by the cover material when the brim is frilly constructed. 
     
     
         31 . Headwear with features for holding a pair of glasses thereon, the pair of glasses having stems and a lens portion, the headwear comprising:
 a crown having a front and opposing sides;   a brim attached to the front of the crown, said brim having a brim width extending substantially between the opposing sides of the crown; and   a raised flair on the brim, the raised flair having a length and a height, wherein the length of the raised flair runs along the brim width but does not extend along the entire brim width; and   wherein the height of the raised flair at at least one point along the length is sufficient to substantially impede forward movement of the lens portion of the pair of glasses when the stems are positioned adjacent the opposing sides of the crown and the lens portion rests on the brim behind the raised flair.   
     
     
         32 . The headwear of  claim 31 , wherein the raised flair is shaped as an arc. 
     
     
         33 . The headwear of  claim 32 , wherein the arch-shaped raised flair has two ends and a center point and wherein the two ends are positioned closer to the crown than is the center point. 
     
     
         34 . The headwear of  claim 31 , wherein the brim has a brim height; and
 wherein the height of the raised flair is tallest relative to the brim height at a center point of the raised flair and tapers in height relative to the brim height towards each end of the raised flair.   
     
     
         35 . The headwear of  claim 31 , wherein the brim comprises an inner support structure covered by a cover material; and
 wherein the raised flair is formed as part of the inner support structure.   
     
     
         36 . The headwear of  claim 35 , wherein the raised flair is at least partially covered by the cover material when the brim is fully constructed. 
     
     
         37 . The headwear of  claim 31 , wherein the brim comprises an inner support structure covered by a cover material; and
 wherein the raised flair is attached to the inner support structure.   
     
     
         38 . The headwear of  claim 37 , wherein the raised flair is at least partially covered by the cover material when the brim is fully constructed.
