Pan breeder feeder
Abstract
A feed distribution system has a feed supply conduit and a feeder. The conduit is configured to move feed therethrough. At least a portion of the conduit defines a longitudinal axis. The feeder has a pan and first and second fill ports for receiving the feed moving through the conduit and for providing the feed to the pan. Each port defines a first opening at which feed flows into the port from the conduit and a second opening at which feed flows out of the port and onto the pan, wherein the first and second openings of each port define centers thereof. The center of the first opening of each port is provided along the axis of the conduit. The center of the second opening of each port is offset from the center of the first opening of each port and from the axis of the conduit.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A feed distribution system comprising:
a feed supply conduit configured to move feed therethrough, at least a portion of said feed supply conduit defining a longitudinal axis; a feeder having a pan member and first and second fill ports for receiving the feed moving through said feed supply conduit and for providing the feed to said pan member, each said fill port defining a first opening at which feed flows into said fill port from the feed supply conduit and a second opening at which feed flows out of said fill port and onto said pan member, wherein said first and second openings of each said fill port define centers thereof, said center of said first opening of each said fill port being provided along said longitudinal axis of said feed supply conduit, said center of said second opening of each said fill port is offset from said center of said first opening of each said fill port and from said longitudinal axis of said feed supply conduit.
2 . The feed distribution system as defined in claim 1 , wherein said feeder further comprises a grill member operatively associated with said pan member, said first and second fill ports being defined by said grill member.
3 . The feed distribution system as defined in claim 2 , wherein said grill member is generally elongated such that a length of said grill member is larger than a width of said grill member along a longitudinal axis of said grill member.
4 . The feed distribution system as defined in claim 3 , wherein said longitudinal axis of said grill member is angled relative to said longitudinal axis of said feed supply conduit.
5 . The feed distribution system as defined in claim 4 , wherein said longitudinal axis of said grill member is angled at a 45 degree angle relative to said longitudinal axis of said feed supply conduit.
6 . The feed distribution system as defined in claim 4 , wherein said center of said second opening of each said fill port is provided along said longitudinal axis of said grill member.
7 . The feed distribution system as defined in claim 6 , wherein no portion of said second opening of each said fill port is provided along said longitudinal axis of said feed supply conduit.
8 . The feed distribution system as defined in claim 1 , wherein a size of said first opening of each said fill port is generally equivalent to a size of said second opening of each said fill port.
9 . The feed distribution system as defined in claim 1 , wherein said feeder is generally elongated such that a length of said feeder is larger than a width of said feeder along a longitudinal axis of said feeder.
10 . The feed distribution system as defined in claim 9 , wherein said longitudinal axis of said feeder is angled relative to said longitudinal axis of said feed supply conduit.
11 . The feed distribution system as defined in claim 10 , wherein said longitudinal axis of said feeder is angled at a 45 degree angle relative to said longitudinal axis of said feed supply conduit.
12 . The feed distribution system as defined in claim 10 , wherein said center of said second opening of each said fill port is provided along said longitudinal axis of said feeder.
