Thread to Thread Communication

Abstract

Thread to thread communication is provided. A first thread registers with a gateway for receiving communication. Registration includes identifying a location for receiving messages. The gateway maps message payloads received from second threads to the location of the first thread. The first thread detects a payload in the location and consumes it for processing.

1 . A method comprising:
 sending an open gateway request to a gateway, wherein the request includes a reference to a location for receiving messages;   configuring a child thread with a thread identifier; and   initiating the child thread.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1  further comprising:
 detecting in the location a child identifier for the child thread; 
 generating a message having the child identifier; and 
 sending the message to the gateway for processing to the child thread. 
 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1  further comprising:
 detecting in the location a first child identifier associated with the child thread; 
 generating a message, in response to detection of the first child identifier, the message having a second child identifier associated with a second child thread, wherein a payload of the message includes the first child identifier; and 
 sending to the gateway the message for processing to the second child thread. 
 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein sending further includes adding key information to the request, which is consumed by the gateway in order to validate messages being placed in the location by the gateway, wherein each message is validated if it includes the key information. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1  further comprising at least one of:
 sending a close communication request to the gateway notifying the gateway that the reference to the location is no longer available for receiving messages; and 
 detecting, by the gateway, that the location is no longer available for receiving messages. 
 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1  further comprising, reprocessing the method for one or more additional iterations for different child threads. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1  further comprising, reprocessing the method for one or more additional iterations by the child thread for sub-child threads associated with the child thread.
