Abstract
The nail clipper assembly includes a base having a pair of opposing nail clipping blades spring biased away from one another. A lever capable of actuating the clipping blades is rotationally attached to the base. A housing substantially enclosing the base and lever includes an aperture through which the clipping blades may at least partially extend. A manually actuable button coupled to the housing engages the lever to move the clipping blades toward one another so that a user may cut a nail with the nail clipper assembly.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A nail clipper assembly, comprising:
a base having a pair of opposing nail clipping blades spring biased away from one another; a lever attached to the base; and a housing substantially enclosing the base and the lever, the housing including an aperture through which the clipping blades at least partially extend, and a manually actuable button for engaging the lever to move the clipping blades toward one another.
2 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the housing comprises a compartment for retaining nail clippings.
3 . The assembly of claim 2 , wherein the housing includes a pair of side walls adjacent to opposite ends of the clipping blades.
4 . The assembly of claim 3 , wherein the side walls buffer the cutting depth of the clipping blades.
5 . The assembly of claim 3 , wherein the side walls cooperate with the base to retain the nail clippings.
6 . The assembly of claim 3 , wherein the side walls are configured to prohibit angled cuts and contact of the clipping blades with skin surrounding the nail.
7 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the lever rotationally attaches to the base.
8 . The assembly of claim 7 , wherein the button couples to the lever to permit single plane movement thereof.
9 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the button encompasses the lever and includes a surface area relatively larger than the surface area of the lever.
10 . The assembly of claim 1 , including a file disposed on the exterior of the housing.
11 . The assembly of claim 10 , wherein the file comprises silicon carbide.
12 . A nail clipper assembly, comprising:
a base having a pair of opposing nail clipping blades spring biased away from one another; a lever rotationally attached to the base; and a housing substantially enclosing the base and the lever, the housing including an aperture through which the clipping blades at least partially extend, and a manually actuable button for engaging the lever to move the clipping blades toward one another, wherein the housing comprises a compartment for retaining nail clippings.
13 . The assembly of claim 12 , including a file comprising silicon carbide disposed on the exterior of the housing.
14 . The assembly of claim 12 , wherein the button couples to the lever to permit single plane movement thereof.
15 . The assembly of claim 12 , wherein the housing includes a pair of side walls adjacent to opposite ends of the clipping blades that cooperate with the base to retain the nail clippings.
16 . The assembly of claim 15 , wherein the side walls buffer the cutting depth of the clipping blades and are configured to prohibit angled cuts and contact of the clipping blades with skin surrounding the nail.
17 . A nail clipper assembly, comprising:
a base having a pair of opposing nail clipping blades spring biased away from one another; a lever attached to the base; a housing comprising a compartment for retaining nail clippings substantially enclosing the base and the lever, the housing including an aperture through which the clipping blades at least partially extend; and a manually actuable button for engaging the lever to move the clipping blades toward one another, wherein the button encompasses the lever and includes a surface area relatively larger than the surface area of the lever.
18 . The assembly of claim 17 , including a file comprising silicon carbide disposed on the exterior of the housing.
19 . The assembly of claim 17 , wherein the housing includes a pair of side walls adjacent to opposite ends of the clipping blades that cooperate with the base to retain the nail clippings.
20 . The assembly of claim 19 , wherein the side walls buffer the cutting depth of the clipping blades and are configured to prohibit angled cuts and contact of the clipping blades with skin surrounding the nail.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
