Abstract

Embodiments are provided to deliver information to a user such that data information delivery costs are less than an amount of generated advertising revenue. In an embodiment, a system can be configured to deliver information, including content and advertisements, to a user which operates to remove the burden of payment for the information delivery by the user. In one embodiment, bandwidth, compression, minimization, protocols, timing, and other optimization parameters can be used to minimize the cost to communicate information, including content and advertisements, to a user. Embodiments can be configured to optimally package advertisements and content, such that advertising revenue can be used to compensate for or override costs associated with the transmission of the content and advertisements. Other embodiments and functionality are available.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A method comprising:
generating advertising revenue based in part on a communication of information that includes a number of advertisements; tracking user interactions as part of an advertisement display; comparing a cost to transmit content and the number of advertisements with an amount of advertising revenue generated by the number of advertisements; and, quantifying revenue based in part on aspects of the user interactions including adjusting one or more communication parameters and using the advertising revenue to limit a transaction charge.

2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising storing one or more of the number of advertisements to allow multiple use of one or more of the number of advertisements, and dynamically displaying the information based in part on an interactive context and user preferences.

3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising generating revenue such that end users are not charged a data transaction fee as part of a communication.

4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising controlling a delivery of advertisements to a user as part of maximizing revenue.

5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising calculating a cost per advertisement associated with an advertisement display when a user interacts with a device displaying the advertisement.

6 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising comparing a cost to transmit content with an amount of revenue generated by advertisements, and adjusting a communication parameter to provide a positive amount of residual revenue based in part on the comparison.

7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing a delivery of information based in part on a peak communication interval associated with a communication network.

8 . The method of claim 7 , further comprising timing a delivery of the information based in part on an off-peak communication interval associated with the communication network.

9 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising charging more for a directed advertisement based in part on an advertising target.

10 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising managing information communication based in part on one or more of bandwidth optimization, compression, and timing parameters.

11 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising using historical advertising revenue to adjust a number of communication parameters as part of delivering information.

12 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising managing information traffic communicated during a given time period.

13 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising managing a request frequency associated with an information request as part of delivering information.

         14 . A communication system operating to:
deliver information as part of minimizing costs associated with the communication of the information and use configuration information to reduce information traffic when responding to an information request; use an amount of advertising revenue accounting for the advertisement interaction to compensate for the transmission of the information which includes a comparison of a cost to transmit content and a number of advertisements with an amount of advertising revenue generated by the number of advertisements; and, adjust at least one communication parameter as part of realizing residual revenue as part of the communication of information.

15 . The system of claim 14 , further comprising a client computing device and a cache to store one or more of the number of advertisements, wherein one or more of the number of advertisements can be deleted from the cache upon reaching an expiration event.

16 . The system of claim 14 , further operating to use user preferences and the configuration information when communicating the number of advertisements to reduce transmission costs.

17 . The system of claim 14 , further operating to adjust the at least one communication parameter to provide a positive amount of residual revenue and use a cost comparison to transmit content with an amount of revenue generated by advertisements when adjusting the at least one communication parameter.

         18 . A communication method comprising:
receiving a communication of information including content and at least one advertisement as part of a communication package; displaying the information based in part on an interactive context and user preferences; tracking user interactions when an advertisement is displayed; and, quantifying economic return for each advertisement based in part on tracked user interactions, including determining if an amount of advertising revenue compensates for a cost to communicate the communication package to limit transaction fees associated with a communication service.

19 . The method of claim 18 , receiving the communication package and using a number of transmission parameters as part of reducing data traffic when receiving select content and advertisements.

20 . The method of claim 19 , further comprising receiving the communication package including tracking user interactions when advertisements are displayed in a client interface and adjusting bandwidth and timing parameters as part of realizing residual revenue.
