Cosmetic System, and Method for Disguising Skin Defects

Abstract

The present invention provides a method for disguising dermatological blemishes on the skin of a patient. The method includes providing a viscous silicone material in a first container, and a catalyst in a second container. The silicone material, the catalyst, or both, is pre-tinted to match a selected skin tone of the patient. The silicone material may also have a flocking agent dispersed therein to provide texture. In this way, the silicone material will more easily blend in with the user's skin. The method also includes dispensing the silicone material and the catalyst from a dispensing gun, thereby mixing the silicone material and the catalyst into a silicone mixture for application and curing. The mixture is applied to the dermatological area of interest on the skin of the patient. Thereafter, the method includes allowing the silicone material to cure to form a translucent elastic layer. Preferably, the method also includes applying a skin texturizing pad over the silicone mixture to add texture to the translucent elastic layer. The skin pad is removed before the silicone mixture fully cures.

1 . A method for disguising dermatological blemishes on a patient, comprising:
 providing a viscous silicone material;   providing a catalyst;   dispensing the silicone material and the catalyst from a dispensing gun, thereby mixing the silicone material and the catalyst into a silicone mixture for application and curing;   applying the silicone mixture to a dermatological area of interest on the patient; and   allowing the silicone material to cure on a skin surface of the patient.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein a skin-colored pigment is dispersed in the silicone material, in the catalyst, or both. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 2 , wherein a flocking agent is dispersed in the silicone material, in the catalyst, or both. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 3 , further comprising:
 providing a cartridge for containing the silicone material; and   providing a cartridge for containing the catalyst;   the cartridges being configured to be received in the dispensing gun.   
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 4 , wherein the cartridges are integral to one another. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 5 , wherein the cartridges are sized such that the silicone material and the catalyst are dispensed from the dispensing gun in substantially a 1:1 volume ratio. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 4 , further comprising:
 determining a tone of the patient's skin; and   selecting a silicone-containing cartridge, a catalyst-containing cartridge, or both, that is pre-tinted with a pigment that approximates the determined skin tone.   
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 7 , further comprising:
 providing a skin prepping solution to the dermatological area of interest prior to applying the silicone mixture to a dermatological area of interest.   
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 7 , further comprising:
 applying a skin texturizing pad over the silicone mixture, the skin texturizing pad being textured in accordance with the dermatological area of interest; and   removing the skin texturizing pad before the silicone mixture fully cures.   
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 7 , further comprising:
 applying facial makeup to the dermatological area of interest prior to applying the silicone mixture to the dermatological area of interest.   
     
     
         11 . A method for disguising dermatological blemishes on the skin of a patient, comprising:
 providing a viscous silicone material in a first cartridge, the silicone material being tinted to match a selected skin tone and having a flocking agent dispersed therein to provide texture so as to visually blend in with a user's skin;   providing a catalyst in a second cartridge;   dispensing the silicone material and the catalyst from a dispensing gun, thereby mixing the silicone material and the catalyst into a silicone mixture for application and curing;   applying the silicone mixture to a dermatological area of interest on the skin of the patient;   allowing the silicone material to cure to form a translucent elastic layer;   applying a skin texturizing pad over the silicone mixture, the skin texturing pad having dimples in accordance with the dermatological area of interest to create texture to the translucent elastic layer such that the dimples generally reflect a pore pattern of the dermatological area of interest; and   removing the skin texturing pad before the silicone mixture fully cures.   
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 11 , wherein:
 the first and second cartridges are integral to one another; and   the first and second cartridges are sized to be loaded into a dispensing gun having a trigger for dispensing the silicone material and the catalyst.   
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 12 , further comprising:
 determining a tone of the patient's skin; and   selecting a silicone-containing cartridge, a catalyst-containing cartridge, or both, that is pre-tinted with a pigment that approximates the determined skin tone.   
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 13 , further comprising:
 providing a skin prepping solution to the dermatological area of interest prior to applying the silicone mixture to a dermatological area of interest.   
     
     
         15 . The method of  claim 13 , further comprising:
 applying facial makeup to the dermatological area of interest prior to applying the silicone mixture to the dermatological area of interest.
