Abstract

New crystalline forms of 4-[4-(2-adamantylcarbamoyl)-5-tert-butyl-pyrazol-1-yl]benzoic acid; their use in the inhibition of 11βHSD1, processes for making them and pharmaceutical compositions comprising them are also described.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 38 . (canceled)

39 . A crystalline form of 4-[4-(2-adamantylcarbamoyl)-5-tert-butyl-pyrazol-1-yl]benzoic acid having an X-ray diffraction pattern with peaks at the following 2-theta values measured using CuKa radiation: 18.7 and 11.7°.

40 . A crystalline compound as claimed in claim 39 having an X-ray powder diffraction pattern with peaks at the following 2-theta values measured using CuKa radiation: 18.7, 11.7 and 19.2°.

41 . A crystalline form of a compound as claimed in claim 39 having an X-ray powder diffraction pattern with peaks at the following 2-theta values measured using CuKa radiation: 18.7, 11.7, 19.2, 7.8, 14.1, 14.9 and 9.4°.

         42 . A crystalline form of a compound as claimed in claim 39 having an X-ray powder diffraction pattern with peaks at the following 2-theta values measured using CuKa radiation: 18.7, 11.7, 19.2, 7.8, 14.1, 14.9, 9.4, 15.6, 16.1 and 9.6°.

43 . A crystalline compound as claimed in claim 39 having an X-ray diffraction pattern, using CuKa radiation, substantially the same as shown in FIG. 3 .

44 . A pharmaceutical composition, which comprises a compound according to claim 39 in association with a pharmaceutically-acceptable diluent or carrier.

45 . A method of producing a 11βHSD1 inhibitory effect by administering an effective amount of a compound according to claim 39 to a mammal in need of such treatment.

46 . A method according to claim 45 wherein the 11βHSD1 inhibitory effect is to treat type 2 diabetes.
