Ergonomic Shaped Household Cleaning Brush
Abstract
The present invention relates generally to a manually-operated household cleaning tool, and more particularly to household cleaning tool having optimum geometry for cleaning of bathroom, kitchen, floor, wall, ceiling, and other surfaces in the home. The shape of the tool head is designed to provide contiguous surface contact on a variety of concave basin surfaces while the angle and length of the handle attached thereto facilitates reach and leverage of the operator in potentially confined environments. The multiplicity of contact material and stiffness of said material further enhances the utility of the tool under any household condition.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A cleaning implement comprising:
A Brush Head of a modified rectangular plan form shape such that that the narrow edges are rounded off into a hemispherical cross section equal in diameter to the thickness of the Brush Head Core and including a larger radius curve on one lower corner, a sharp edge on the opposite lower corner, and a Neck for the mounting of a handle; a Contact Material affixed to all sides of the Brush Head with the exception of the Neck where such Contact Material is of near-uniform thickness but for the increased length and stiffness of the Spike feature of Material attached to the sharp edge of the Head Core; a Neck for the attachment of the Brush Handle at an angle ideally suited for use in a variety of environments with appropriate Reinforcement Ridges to allow transfer of scrubbing pressure from Brush Handle to Head and an Attachment Mechanism such as a bracket, screw, retention pin, or receptacle for the insertion or mounting of said Handle; and a Brush Handle of one or more members thus providing multiple standard or variable lengths for leverage and reach in a variety of household cleaning environments.
2 . The cleaning implement of claim 1 wherein said Brush Head Core is manufactured of hollow-core or solid molded plastic or other composite material of like hardness, density, and/or water-resistance.
3 . The cleaning implement of claim 1 wherein said Brush Head Core dimensions are between 3.5 to 14 inches in length, 2 to 10 inches in height, and 0.5 to 2 inches in Width.
4 . The cleaning implement of claim 1 wherein said larger radius curve is between 25% and 75% of the Brush Head Core height.
5 . The cleaning implement of claim 1 wherein said larger radius curve is removed and replaced with a 90-degree corner such that the Brush Head Core is fully rectangular in plan form view.
6 . The cleaning implement of claim 1 wherein said Contact Material thickness is between 50% and 200% of the Head Core width.
7 . The cleaning implement of claim 1 wherein the thickness of said Spike feature of Contact Material attached to the sharp edge of the Head Core extends between 25% and 100% of the nominal Contact Material thickness measurement beyond said nominal Contact Material thickness.
8 . The cleaning implement of claim 1 wherein said Contact Material is comprised of stiff bristles of nylon or discretely applied groupings or clumps of other like material.
9 . The cleaning implement of claim 1 wherein said Contact Material is comprised of a unitary pad or fabric wrapper for the Brush Head permanently attached or removable for washing of the pad or disposal and utilization of newer Contact Material.
10 . The cleaning implement of claim 1 wherein said Contact Material may be of soft, medium, or rough levels of abrasiveness such that the Material options are applicable to a wide range of household cleaning tasks.
11 . The cleaning implement of claim 1 wherein the Neck is constructed in such a fashion to impart an angle in relation to the plan form side of the Brush Head Core between 135 degrees and 170 degrees.
12 . The cleaning implement of claim 1 wherein the Attachment Mechanism is constructed in such a fashion to facilitate the attachment, removal, and re-attachment of a variety of Brush Handle configurations.
13 . The cleaning implement of claim 1 wherein said Brush Handle comprises a single member of fixed length.
14 . The cleaning implement of claim 1 wherein said Brush Handle comprises multiple members of uniform or different lengths such that each segment may be used individually or in multiple combinations to provide a discrete number of Handle lengths optimized for various cleaning tasks.
15 . The cleaning implement of claim 1 wherein said Brush Handle comprises a variable length collapsing or telescoping member such that a large number of total Handle Lengths are possible between a minimum and maximum range.
16 . The cleaning implement of claim 1 wherein said Brush Handle includes an End Cap or other feature designed to facilitate hanging or mounting of the implement for storage on a vertical surface or in an overhead position.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
