Flight information reminder system and method

Abstract

A flight information reminder system includes a computer system maintaining updated flight information about a flight having a duration. The computer system is adapted to issue messages to individual subscriber units over a wireless network at spaced intervals throughout at least a portion of the duration of the flight, and the subscriber units are each coupled to receive the messages issued from the computer system over the wireless network. The messages each contain the updated flight information about the flight.

         27 . A flight information reminder system, comprising:
 a computer system maintaining updated flight information about a flight having a duration, and adapted to issue messages to an individual subscriber unit over a wireless network at spaced intervals throughout at least a portion of the duration of the flight; and   the messages each containing the updated flight information about the flight.   
     
     
         28 . The flight information reminder system of  claim 27 , wherein each of the messages comprises one of an automated voice message, a text message, and an email message. 
     
     
         29 . The flight information reminder system of  claim 27 , wherein the updated flight information comprises at least one of an airline name, a flight number, an updated departure time of the flight, an updated arrival time of the flight, and an updated flight status. 
     
     
         30 . The flight information reminder system of  claim 27 , wherein the duration of the flight extends from approximately an establishment of the flight to one of approximately a departure time of the flight and approximately an arrival time of the flight. 
     
     
         31 . The flight information reminder system of  claim 27 , wherein the duration of the flight extends from approximately a starting time leading up to a departure time of the flight to one of approximately the departure time of the flight and approximately an arrival time of the flight. 
     
     
         32 . The flight information reminder system of  claim 27 , further comprising:
 the computer system includes an electronic account corresponding to the individual subscriber unit and accessible through a web site; and   the electronic account containing address information corresponding to the individual subscriber unit.   
     
     
         33 . A flight information reminder system, comprising:
 a flight having a duration;   a passenger assigned to the flight and to an individual subscriber unit;   a computer system maintaining updated flight information about the flight, and adapted to issue messages to the individual subscriber unit over a wireless network at spaced intervals throughout at least a portion of the duration of the flight; and   the messages each containing the updated flight information about the flight.   
     
     
         34 . The flight information reminder system of  claim 33 , further comprising:
 a personal message to the passenger maintained by the computer system;   the computer system including the personal message in at least one of the messages to the individual subscriber unit.   
     
     
         35 . The flight information reminder system of  claim 33 , wherein each of the messages comprises at least one of an automated voice message, a text message, and an email message. 
     
     
         36 . The flight information reminder system of  claim 33 , wherein the updated flight information comprises at least one of an airline name, a flight number, an updated departure time of the flight, an updated arrival time, and an updated flight status. 
     
     
         37 . The flight information reminder system of  claim 33 , wherein the duration of the flight extends from approximately an establishment of the flight to one of approximately a departure time of the flight and approximately an arrival time of the flight. 
     
     
         38 . The flight information reminder system of  claim 33 , wherein the duration of the flight extends from approximately a starting time leading up to a departure time of the flight to one of approximately the departure time of the flight and approximately an arrival time of the flight. 
     
     
         39 . A flight information reminder system, comprising:
 a flight having a duration;   a first computer system maintaining updated flight information about a flight;   a second computer system coupled to receive the updated flight information about the flight from the first computer system and adapted to issue messages to the individual subscriber units through a wireless network at spaced intervals throughout at least a portion of the duration of the flight; and   the messages each containing the updated flight information about the flight.   
     
     
         40 . The flight information reminder system of  claim 39 , wherein each of the messages comprises one of an automated voice message, a text message, and an email message. 
     
     
         41 . The flight information reminder system of  claim 39 , wherein the updated flight information comprises at least one of an airline name, a flight number, an updated departure time of the flight, an updated arrival time of the flight, and an updated flight status. 
     
     
         42 . The flight information reminder system of  claim 39 , wherein the duration of the flight extends from approximately an establishment of the flight to one of approximately a departure time of the flight and approximately an arrival time of the flight. 
     
     
         43 . The flight information reminder system of  claim 39 , wherein the duration of the flight extends from approximately a starting time leading up to a departure time of the flight to one of approximately the departure time of the flight and approximately an arrival time of the flight. 
     
     
         44 . The flight information reminder system of  claim 39 , further comprising:
 the second computer system includes an electronic account corresponding to the individual subscriber unit and accessible through a web site; and   the electronic account contains address information corresponding to the individual subscriber unit.   
     
     
         45 . The flight information reminder system of  claim 39 , further comprising:
 a personal message maintained by the second computer system; and   the second computer system including the personal message in at least one of the message to the individual subscriber unit.
