Abstract

According to one embodiment, an electronic apparatus includes a housing including a peripheral wall on which an opening is provided, and an anchor plate supported by the housing. The anchor plate is slidable between a first position, in which the anchor plate is accommodated within the housing, and a second position, in which the anchor plate projects from the housing through the opening. The anchor plate includes an aperture to which an anti-theft device may be attached, in a portion that is exposed outside the housing when the anchor plate is slid to the second position. The anchor plate is held in the second position by a stop mechanism when the anchor plate is slid at least to the second position.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . An electronic apparatus comprising:
a housing comprising a peripheral wall; an opening on the peripheral wall; an anchor plate supported by the housing, the anchor plate configured to slide between a first position, in which the anchor plate is within the housing, and a second position, in which the anchor plate is not within the housing, and comprising a portion exposed outside the housing when the anchor plate is in the second position, the portion comprising an aperture configured to attach an anti-theft tethering device; and a stopper configured to stop the anchor plate in the second position when the anchor plate is slid to the second position.

2 . The electronic apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the anchor plate comprises a side edge along a direction in which the anchor plate slides, and a notch portion at the side edge, and the stopper comprises an engaging portion configured to restrict sliding of the anchor plate by causing the anchor plate to engage with the notch portion when the anchor plate is slid to the second position.

3 . The electronic apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the stopper comprises an elastic portion configured to exert a force to move the engaging portion toward the anchor plate.

4 . The electronic apparatus of claim 3 , wherein the notch portion of the anchor plate comprises an edge portion that contacts the engaging portion when the anchor plate is slid from the second position to the first position, and the edge portion is inclined in a direction in which the engaging portion is disengaged from the notch portion, according to the sliding of the anchor plate toward the first position.

5 . The electronic apparatus of claim 1 , wherein a portion of the aperture is exposed outside the housing from the opening when the anchor plate is slid to the first position.

6 . The electronic apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising a holding plate configured to hold the anchor plate in the housing, the holding plate comprising a protruding portion configured to slidably engage with a slot in the anchor plate parallel to a direction along which the anchor plate slides.

7 . The electronic apparatus of claim 1 , wherein a gap is between the tethering device and the peripheral wall of the housing in a state in which the tethering device is connected to the aperture in the anchor plate slid to the second position.

8 . An electronic apparatus comprising:
a housing comprising a peripheral wall; an opening on the peripheral wall; an anchor plate supported by the housing, the anchor plate configured to slide between a first position, in which the anchor plate is within the housing, and a second position, in which the anchor plate is not within the housing, and comprising an aperture configured to attach an anti-theft tethering device in a portion exposed outside the housing when the anchor plate is slid to the second position, and a first notch portion and a second notch portion on a side edge parallel to a direction along which the anchor plate slides; and a stopper configured to stop the anchor plate in the first position when the anchor plate is slid to the first position by causing the anchor plate to engage with the first notch portion, and to stop the anchor plate in the second position when the anchor plate is slid to the second position by causing the anchor plate to engage with the second notch portion.

9 . The electronic apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the stopper comprises an engaging portion configured to restrict sliding of the anchor plate by causing the anchor plate to engage with the first notch portion and the second notch portion, and an elastic portion configured to exert a force to move the engaging portion toward the anchor plate.

10 . The electronic apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the first notch portion of the anchor plate comprises an edge portion that contacts the engaging portion when the anchor plate is slid from the first position to the second position, and the edge portion is inclined in a direction in which the engaging portion is disengaged from the first notch portion, according to the sliding of the anchor plate toward the second position.

11 . The electronic apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the second notch portion of the anchor plate comprises an edge portion that contacts the engaging portion when the anchor plate is slid from the second position to the first position, and the edge portion is inclined in a direction in which the engaging portion is disengaged from the second notch portion, according to the sliding of the anchor plate toward the first position.

12 . An electronic apparatus comprising:
a housing comprising a peripheral wall; an opening on the peripheral wall; an anchor plate supported by the housing, the anchor plate configured to move between a first position, in which the anchor plate is within the housing, and a second position, in which the anchor plate is not within the housing, and comprising a portion that is exposed outside the housing when the anchor plate is moved to the second position, the portion comprising an aperture configured to attach an anti-theft tethering device; and a stopper configured to stop the anchor plate in the second position when the anchor plate is moved to the second position.
