Fitted denim jacket and method of making

Abstract

A jacket having two sleeves and at least one outside breast pocket further having a cuff-less sleeve end consisting of a hemmed finish; a cuff-less waist consisting of a hemmed finish; and an inside breast pocket inside the jacket sharing the same outline as the outside breast pocket, whereby the jacket provides a fitted and shorter fit around the sleeves and waistband without the use of a cuff fastening means, and whereby securing means securing the inside pocket are not visible on the outside of the jacket because they share the same outline. A method of making the jacket of the present invention has the steps of removing the sleeves cuffs from the sleeve ends; hemming the sleeve ends; removing the waistband cuff from the jacket waist; and hemming the waist, whereby the sleeves are shorter and fitted without the use of securing means.

1 . A jacket having two sleeves and at least one outside breast pocket further comprising:
 a cuff-less sleeve end consisting essentially of a hemmed finish;   a cuff-less waist consisting essentially of a hemmed finish; and   an inside breast pocket inside the jacket sharing the same outline as the outside breast pocket, whereby the jacket provides a fitted and shorter fit around the sleeves without the use of a cuff fastening means, and whereby securing means securing the inside pocket are not visible on the outside of the jacket because they share the same outline.   
     
     
         2 . The jacket of  claim 1 , wherein the jacket is a denim jacket. 
     
     
         3 . The jacket of  claim 1 , wherein two cuff-less sleeve ends consisting essentially of a hemmed finish are provided. 
     
     
         4 . The jacket of  claim 1 , comprising two inside breast pockets inside the jacket sharing the same outlines as two outside breast pockets. 
     
     
         5 . A jacket having two sleeves and two outside breast pockets further comprising:
 two cuff-less sleeve ends consisting essentially of hemmed finishes;   a cuff-less waistband consisting essentially of a hemmed finish; and   two inside breast pockets inside the jacket sharing the same outlines as the two outside breast pockets, whereby the jacket provides a fitted and shorter fit around the sleeves and waistband without the use of a cuff fastening means, and whereby securing means securing the inside pockets are not visible on the outside of the jacket because they share the same outline.   
     
     
         6 . The jacket of  claim 5 , wherein the jacket is a denim jacket. 
     
     
         7 . A method of making a fitted jacket from a jacket having cuffed sleeves and a cuffed waistband comprising the steps of:
 removing the sleeves cuffs from the sleeve ends;   hemming the sleeve ends;   removing the waistband cuff from the jacket waist; and   hemming the waist, whereby the sleeves and waist are shorter and fitted without the use of securing means.   
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 7 , wherein the jacket has an outside breast pocket further comprising the step of sewing an inside breast pocket along the same outline as the outside breast pocket such that stitching for the inside pocket is aligned with stitching for the outside breast pocket. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 8 , wherein the jacket has a second outside breast pocket further comprising the step of sewing a second inside breast pocket along the same outline as the second outside breast pocket such that stitching for the inside pocket is aligned with stitching for the outside breast pocket.
