Abstract

Coexistence of multiple types of verification components in a single verification framework is provided. Particularly, the coexistence of proprietary e verification components in an open verification methodology framework is provided.

1 . A computer-implemented method for facilitating the coexistence of multiple types of verification components within the same verification framework, the method comprising:
 accessing a verification framework;   accessing a legacy verification component;   generating a wrapper for the legacy verification component;   generating an interface reflection for the legacy verification component; and   instantiating the legacy verification component, the wrapper, and the interface reflection in the verification framework.   
     
     
         2 . The computer-implemented method recited in  claim 1 , the method act of generating a wrapper for the legacy verification component comprising:
 identifying at least one method defined by the legacy verification component; and   defining an open framework method that corresponds to each of the at least one identified methods.   
     
     
         3 . The computer-implemented method recited in  claim 2 , the method act of generating a wrapper for the legacy verification component further comprising:
 identifying at least one configuration method defined by the legacy verification component; and   defining an open framework configuration option that corresponds to each of the at least one identified configuration methods.   
     
     
         4 . The computer-implemented method recited in  claim 3 , the method act of instantiating the legacy verification component, the wrapper, and the interface reflection in the verification framework comprising configuring the legacy verification component in part through the at least one open framework configuration options. 
     
     
         5 . The computer-implemented method recited in  claim 1 , the method act of generating an interface reflection for the legacy verification component comprising:
 identifying at least one data-type defined by the legacy verification component; and   defining a complementary data-type that corresponds to each of the at least one identified data-types.   
     
     
         6 . The computer-implemented method recited in  claim 5 , wherein the at least one complementary data-types include one or more activation fields. 
     
     
         7 . A computer program product for facilitating the coexistence of multiple types of verification components within the same verification framework comprising:
 software instructions for enabling a computer to perform a set of operations; and   one or more tangible computer-readable media bearing the software instructions;   the set of operations including:
 accessing a verification framework; 
 accessing a legacy verification component; 
 generating a wrapper for the legacy verification component; 
 generating an interface reflection for the legacy verification component; and 
 instantiating the legacy verification component, the wrapper, and the interface reflection in the verification framework. 
   
     
     
         8 . The computer program product recited in  claim 7 , the operation for generating a wrapper for the legacy verification component comprising:
 identifying at least one method defined by the legacy verification component; and   defining an open framework method that corresponds to each of the at least one identified methods.   
     
     
         9 . The computer program product recited in  claim 8 , the operation for generating a wrapper for the legacy verification component further comprising:
 identifying at least one configuration method defined by the legacy verification component; and   defining an open framework configuration option that corresponds to each of the at least one identified configuration methods.   
     
     
         10 . The computer program product recited in  claim 9 , the operation for instantiating the legacy verification component, the wrapper, and the interface reflection in the verification framework comprising configuring the legacy verification component in part through the at least one open framework configuration options. 
     
     
         11 . The computer program product recited in  claim 7 , the operation for generating an interface reflection for the legacy verification component comprising:
 identifying at least one data-type defined by the legacy verification component; and   defining a complementary data-type that corresponds to each of the at least one identified data-types.   
     
     
         12 . The computer program product recited in  claim 11 , wherein the at least one complementary data-types include one or more activation fields. 
     
     
         13 . The computer program product recited in  claim 12 , wherein the legacy verification component is implemented in e. 
     
     
         14 . The computer program product recited in  claim 13 , wherein the verification framework is implemented in SystemVerilog.
