Abstract

Novel receptor polypeptides, polynucleotides encoding the polypeptides, and related compositions and methods are disclosed. The polypeptides comprise an extracellular domain of a cell-surface receptor that is expressed in pancreas, small intestine, colon and thymus. The polypeptides may be used within methods for detecting ligands that promote the proliferation and/or differentiation of these organs.

1 . An isolated antibody that specifically binds to a polypeptide consisting of amino acid residues 18 to 228 of SEQ ID NO:2. 
     
     
         2 . The antibody of  claim 1 , wherein said antibody is a monoclonal antibody. 
     
     
         3 . The antibody of  claim 1 , wherein said antibody is a single-chain antibody. 
     
     
         4 . The antibody of  claim 1 , wherein said antibody is an antigen-binding antibody fragment. 
     
     
         5 . The antibody of  claim 4 , wherein the antigen-binding fragment is a F(ab′) 2  or Fab fragment. 
     
     
         6 . The antibody of  claim 1 , wherein said antibody is a genetically engineered antibody.
