Non-fuel combusting stand alone air turbine engine
Abstract
The invention discloses a non-fuel combusting air turbine assembly suitable as a stand alone system for generating electricity. The systems include an air turbine engine powered by a compressor mechanism to increase the potential energy that can be harnessed by the turbines, having a noise reducing air intake section for delivering air to the compressor. Additionally, the systems include a turbine mechanism composed of plural sets of stationary vanes and rotating vanes, preferably arranged alternatively, and a battery rechargeable by a generator operable by the rotating turbine vanes. To initiate starting the turbine assembly, a secondary power source is included.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A stand alone, non-fuel combusting air turbine system for generating electricity, said system comprising:
a non-fuel combusting air turbine engine powered by a compressor mechanism to increase the potential energy that can be harnessed by said engine to operate a generator, said compressor mechanism operable by a secondary power source, an air intake section for delivering air to said compressor mechanism, a means for transmitting air from said intake section to a turbine assembly, where said mechanism in an axial operating compressor to actively accelerate said delivered air; a) said turbine assembly positioned for receiving said accelerated air, where said turbine assembly comprises plural concentric vanes composed of a first set of vanes being stationary and a second set of rotatable vanes alternately positioned with said first set of vanes; and; b) an electrical generator powered by said turbine assembly, where said generator is operable to produce additional electricity above the capacity of said secondary power source.
2 . The stand alone, non-fuel combusting air turbine system according to claim 1 , wherein a portion of the power generated by said turbines augments said secondary power source to drive said axial compressor.
3 . The stand alone, non-fuel combusting air turbine system according to claim 1 , wherein said turbines are positioned in said intake section upstream in the air stream of said compressor to start and augment the rotation of said compressor.
4 . The stand alone, non-fuel combusting air turbine system according to claim 1 , including a rotary hub housing to drive said compressor and said second set of vanes, and said sub housing contains plural generators driven by a drive shaft powered by said second set of vanes.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
