Shaft mounting device for golf putters

Abstract

A golf putter shaft mounting device that gives the golfer improved feel, accuracy and distance control by maintaining face balance through a wide range of custom settings of lie angle and custom length selection. This invention also allows for ease of manufacture of a putter with custom features. This invention also relates to golf swing training, specifically to an apparatus that aids in learning and improving the alignment and swing for the putter.

1 ) A golf putter shaft mounting device comprising:
 a. a longitudinal body of predetermined length, cross sectional shape and material of construction,   b. means for attaching a putter shaft to one end of said body,   c. means for attaching one end of said body to a putter head, whereby said longitudinal body can be rotationally bent to adjust the shaft lie angle relative to the putter head.   
     
     
         2 ) The golf putter shaft mounting device of  claim 1  wherein said longitudinal body is cylindrical in cross sectional shape and constructed of a material of sufficient tensile strength and elasticity to meet the desired rotational bending range and number of repetitions desired. 
     
     
         3 ) The golf putter shaft mounting device of  claim 1  wherein said longitudinal body is cylindrical in cross sectional shape and constructed of a material of sufficient tensile strength and elasticity to meet the desired rotational bending range and number of repetitions desired. Said longitudinal body to be approximately two inches in overall length with a center portion approximately ¾ inches in length and having a diameter of approximately ⅜ inches. One end of the said longitudinal body has a diameter of approximately ⅝ inches for attachment of the shaft using an appropriately sized hole and attachment means such as shafting epoxy. The other end of said longitudinal body is axially threaded and of predetermined cross sectional shape for fixed mounting, using epoxy or another suitable adhesive, to the rear of the putter head or to the back of the putter face. 
     
     
         4 ) The golf putter shaft mounting device of claim One wherein said longitudinal body is cylindrical in cross sectional shape and constructed of a material of sufficient tensile strength and elasticity to meet the desired rotational bending range and number of repetitions desired. Said longitudinal body to be approximately two inches in overall length with a center portion approximately ¾ inches in length and having a diameter of approximately ⅜ inches. One end of the said longitudinal body has a diameter of approximately ⅝ inches for attachment of the shaft using an appropriately sized hole and attachment means such as shafting epoxy. The other end of said longitudinal body is axially threaded and of predetermined cross sectional shape for removable mounting to the rear of the putter head or to the back of the putter face.
