Fixture set
Abstract
The present invention relates to a fixture set which comprises an accessory part ( 2 ), and at leas t one means for fixing the accessory part ( 2 ) to a front surface of a wall of a hollow frame ( 1 ), through a hole ( 6 ) provided through said wall. The fixing means comprises an anchor ( 5 ), a bolt ( 3 ) screwed into the anchor ( 5 ) and a splitter ( 4 ) arranged between the head of the bolt ( 3 ) and the anchor ( 5 ). The anchor is entirely inserted in the hole ( 6 ) in the wall and comprises at least two parts ( 12 ) which are radially expandable by the splitter ( 4 ), when tightening the bolt, to lock the anchor ( 5 ) against the back surface of the wall. Both the splitter ( 4 ) and the anchor ( 5 ) comprise mutually interlockable structures for substantially restricting rotation of the anchor relative to the splitter. Moreover, the accessory part ( 2 ), or an intermediate accessory piece arranged between the accessory part and the wall, comprises a solid connection for substantially restricting rotation of said splitter ( 4 ) relative to the accessory part ( 2 ).
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A fixture set comprising an accessory part with at least one hole and at least one means for fixing the accessory part to a front surface of a wall through a hole provided through said wall, which fixing means comprises:
a bolt having a bolt head and an at least partially threaded shaft, wherein the bolt shaft is suitable for being inserted through the hole in the accessory part; an anchor which is threaded so as to be screwable to the bolt shaft thread, which is sized for being axially insertable through said hole in the wall and which comprises at least two parts which are radially expandable to lock the anchor against a back surface of said wall; a splitter which comprises an opening arranged to receive the bolt shaft so that the splitter can be interposed between the bolt head and the anchor, and which is sized for being at least partially axially insertable through the hole in the wall and for penetrating between the radially expandable parts of the anchor; the splitter and/or the anchor comprising at least one wedge surface for expanding said radially expandable parts of said anchor radially when said splitter is urged to penetrate in between the radially expandable parts of the anchor, in particular by tightening said bolt, and the splitter and the anchor further comprising mutually interlockable structures for substantially restricting rotation of said anchor relative to said splitter, in particular when screwing the bolt to the anchor; characterised in that the fixture set optionally comprises an intermediate accessory piece arranged to be fixed between the accessory part and the front surface of said wall, and in that the accessory part or the intermediate accessory piece comprises means for substantially restricting rotation of said splitter relative to said accessory part or intermediate accessory piece, said means for substantially restricting rotation comprising a solid connection between the accessory part or the intermediate accessory piece and the splitter, the splitter preferably being an integral part of the accessory part or the intermediate accessory piece and is in particular formed in one piece with the accessory part or the intermediate accessory piece.
2 . A fixture set according to claim 1 , and comprising at least two of said fixing means.
3 . A fixture set according to claim 2 , wherein said accessory part or said intermediate accessory piece is provided with at least two splitters.
4 . A fixture set according to claim 1 , wherein the hole in the accessory part has a widened inlet opening wherein the bolt head can be accommodated.
5 . A fixture set according to claim 1 , wherein said wedge surface is conical.
6 . A fixture set according to claim 1 , wherein the splitter comprises said at least one wedge surface.
7 . A fixture set according to claim 1 , wherein said first mutually interlockable structures comprise at least one slit between the radially expandable parts of said anchor and at least one rib on said splitter for mating with said at least one slit.
8 . A fixture set according to claim 7 , wherein the anchor consists in a substantially cylindrical or prismoidal part with two bases, a longitudinal bore between said two bases, said bore being at least partially threaded, and said slits partially traversing the anchor from one of its bases.
9 . A fixture set according to claim 1 , wherein said accessory part comprises one accessory part selecting from the group consisting of a door keeper, a mounting clamp, a hinge part, a lock bolt reception element, a bolt and a mounting frame provided to mount an additional part.
10 . A method of fixing an accessory part and optionally an intermediate accessory piece to a wall through at least one hole provided therein, the wall having a front and a back surface and the method comprising the steps of:
providing a fixture set according to claim 1 comprising the accessory part to be fixed to the wall; inserting said bolt shaft through the hole in the accessory part and subsequently through the opening in the splitter; screwing the anchor to the bolt shaft; placing the accessory part against the front surface of the wall, so as to insert the assembled fixing means into said hole through the wall; tightening the bolt, so as to urge the splitter to penetrate in between the radially expandable parts of the anchor, so that the radially expandable parts of the anchor are at least partially expanded, locking the anchor against the second surface of the wall.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
