Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A basketball shooting trainer device configured to attach to a basketball rim, said basketball shooting trainer device comprising:
 a bracket comprising:
at least one interior side wall defining a tubular cavity extending longitudinally through said bracket, wherein said tubular cavity has a diameter approximately equal to a diameter of the basketball rim; and
a flexibly-rigid elongated member attached to said bracket, wherein said flexibly-rigid elongated member extends substantially vertical with respect to said bracket's normal operating position.

2 . The basketball shooting trainer device of claim 1 , wherein said flexibly-rigid elongated member is adapted to be in an original position, bend when at least a predetermined force is applied, and return to substantially said original position when said predetermined force is removed.

3 . The basketball shooting trainer device of claim 1 , wherein a length of said bracket is greater than a distance between two net hooks of the basketball rim when said net hooks are off-center to the basketball rim's normal operating position.

4 . The basketball shooting trainer device of claim 1 further comprising at least one attachment device configured to alter a diameter of said tubular cavity, such that said tubular cavity is attached to the basketball rim to reduce displacement of said bracket when at least one of said bracket and said flexibly-rigid elongated member are contacted by an external force.

5 . The basketball shooting trainer device of claim 4 , wherein said at least one attachment device comprises at least first and second hook and loop fastener straps configured to extend circumferentially around said bracket, said first hook and loop fastener strap extending circumferentially around said bracket on an opposite side of said flexibly-rigid elongated member as said second hook and loop fastener strap.

6 . The basketball shooting trainer device of claim 1 , wherein said bracket has a curvature shaped bracket adapted to substantially conform to an arc of the basketball rim.

7 . The basketball shooting trainer device of claim 1 , wherein said bracket is configured to be attached to at least one of the following:
the basketball rim having a net hook in substantially a front-center position with respect to the basketball rim's normal operating position; the basketball rim having a net hook that is off-center with respect to the basketball rim's normal operating position; and the basketball rim having a net hook that is off-center with respect to the basketball rim's normal operating position, wherein the net hook is formed by a single, continuous material that extends circumferentially around the basketball rim forming a plurality of net hooks.

8 . The basketball shooting trainer device of claim 1 , wherein said bracket is configured to be removably attached to the basketball rim.

9 . The basketball shooting trainer device of claim 1 , wherein said bracket is configured to be adjustably attached to the basketball rim.

10 . The basketball shooting trainer device of claim 1 , wherein said flexibly-rigid elongated member is permanently attached to said bracket.

11 . The basketball shooting trainer device of claim 1 , wherein said flexibly-rigid elongated member has a length of approximately three (3) inches to ten (10) inches.

12 . The basketball shooting trainer device of claim 1 , wherein said flexibly-rigid elongated member has a length of approximately seven (7) inches.

13 . A basketball shooting trainer device configured to attach to a basketball rim, said basketball shooting trainer device comprising:
 a bracket comprising:
at least one interior side wall defining a tubular cavity extending longitudinally through said bracket, wherein said tubular cavity has a diameter approximately equal to a diameter of the basketball rim, such that said bracket is configured to removably and adjustably attach to the basketball rim; and
a flexibly-rigid elongated member attached to said bracket, wherein said flexibly-rigid elongated member extends substantially vertical with respect to said bracket's normal operating position, such that said flexibly-rigid elongated member is adapted to be in an original position, bend when at least a predetermined force is applied, and return to substantially said original position when said predetermined force is removed.

14 . The basketball shooting trainer device of claim 13 further comprising at least one attachment device configured to alter a diameter of said tubular cavity, such that said tubular cavity is attached to the basketball rim to reduce displacement of said bracket when at least one of said bracket and said flexibly-rigid elongated member are contacted by an external force.

15 . The basketball shooting trainer device of claim 14 , wherein said at least one attachment device comprises at least first and second hook and loop fastener straps configured to extend circumferentially around said bracket, said first hook and loop fastener strap extending circumferentially around said bracket on an opposite side of said flexibly-rigid elongated member as said second hook and loop fastener strap.

16 . The basketball shooting trainer device of claim 13 , wherein said bracket has a curvature shaped bracket adapted to substantially conform to an arc of the basketball rim.

17 . The basketball shooting trainer device of claim 13 , wherein said bracket is configured to be attached to at least one of the following:
