System for connecting a disc to a disc holder, as well as a disc for such system
Abstract
A system for connecting a disc to a disc holder, e.g. for grinding or polishing purposes, has a disc with an operating surface, an opposite connection surface and a protrusion which is mounted to the connection surface. The disc holder has a supporting surface for supporting the connection surface of the disc and a socket in the supporting surface of the disc holder for receiving the protrusion. The connection surface of the disc and the supporting surface of the disc holder are provided with a fixation element distributed over the surfaces outside the protrusion and the socket respectively.

. System according to claim 1 , wherein the protrusion ( 6 ) has a solid external shape, and the socket ( 7 ) has a free internal space the shape of which corresponds to the shape of the protrusion ( 6 ).
. System according to claim 2 , wherein the external shape of the protrusion ( 6 ) and the internal shape of the socket ( 7 ) are symmetrically in circumferential direction.
. System according to claim 1 , wherein the fixation means ( 8 , 9 ) on the connection surface ( 4 ) of the disc ( 1 ) and on the supporting surface ( 5 ) of the disc holder ( 2 ) comprise Velcro-Type® or other hook & loop connection means ( 17 , 10 ), adhesive connection means and/or magnetic connection means.
. System according to claim 1 , wherein the disc ( 1 ) comprises a laminated structure.
. System according to claim 5 , wherein the disc ( 1 ) comprises a metallic layer ( 14 ), one side of which metallic layer ( 14 ) being provided with a grinding layer ( 15 ) or polishing layer and the other side being provided with the protrusion ( 6 ).
. System according to claim 1 , wherein a throughgoing hole has been provided extending through the disc, the disc holder being provided with a corresponding and coaxial feed channel for feeding a liquid to the operating surface of the disc.
. System according to claim 1 , wherein the protrusion and the socket have corresponding cylindrical shapes.
. System according to claim 1 , wherein the protrusion ( 6 ) and the socket ( 7 ) have corresponding conical shapes.
. Disc ( 1 ) for use in the system according to claim 1 , said disc ( 1 ) having an operating surface ( 3 ), an opposite connection surface ( 4 ), a protrusion ( 6 ) which is mounted to the connection surface ( 4 ) of the disc ( 1 ) as well as fixation means ( 8 ) distributed over said connection surface ( 4 ) outside said protrusion ( 6 ).
. System according to claim 2 , wherein the fixation means ( 8 , 9 ) on the connection surface ( 4 ) of the disc ( 1 ) and on the supporting surface ( 5 ) of the disc holder ( 2 ) comprise Velcro-Type® or other hook & loop connection means ( 17 , 10 ), adhesive connection means and/or magnetic connection means.
. System according to claim 3 , wherein the fixation means ( 8 , 9 ) on the connection surface ( 4 ) of the disc ( 1 ) and on the supporting surface ( 5 ) of the disc holder ( 2 ) comprise Velcro-Type® or other hook & loop connection means ( 17 , 10 ), adhesive connection means and/or magnetic connection means.
. System according to claim 2 , wherein the disc ( 1 ) comprises a laminated structure.
. System according to claim 3 , wherein the disc ( 1 ) comprises a laminated structure.
. System according to claim 4 , wherein the disc ( 1 ) comprises a laminated structure.
. System according to claim 2 , wherein a throughgoing hole has been provided extending through the disc, the disc holder being provided with a corresponding and coaxial feed channel for feeding a liquid to the operating surface of the disc.
. System according to claim 3 , wherein a throughgoing hole has been provided extending through the disc, the disc holder being provided with a corresponding and coaxial feed channel for feeding a liquid to the operating surface of the disc.
. System according to claim 4 , wherein a throughgoing hole has been provided extending through the disc, the disc holder being provided with a corresponding and coaxial feed channel for feeding a liquid to the operating surface of the disc.
. System according to claim 5 , wherein a throughgoing hole has been provided extending through the disc, the disc holder being provided with a corresponding and coaxial feed channel for feeding a liquid to the operating surface of the disc.
. System according to claim 6 , wherein a throughgoing hole has been provided extending through the disc, the disc holder being provided with a corresponding and coaxial feed channel for feeding a liquid to the operating surface of the disc.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
