Abstract
Nucleic acid sequences encoding chromodomain helicase DNA-binding (CHD) proteins, CHD proteins, and antibodies thereto and methods of use thereof are disclosed.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 20 . (canceled)
21 . A method of determining an increased risk for cancer in a human, said method comprising
a) obtaining a biological sample from said human; b) contacting said biological sample with a composition comprising one or more CHD5 specific detection reagents in an amount effective to permit detection and quantitation of a CHD5 encoding nucleic acid molecule, if present, in said sample, wherein said CHD5 encoding nucleic acid molecule is a nucleic acid molecule encoding a polypeptide having an amino acid sequence which has at least 90% homology with SEQ ID NO: 2; c) determining from b) the amount of said CHD5 encoding nucleic acid molecule, wherein a reduced level or absence of said CHD5 encoding nucleic acid molecule indicates the increased risk of cancer in said human.
22 . The method of claim 21 , wherein said CHD5 encoding nucleic acid molecule is selected from the group consisting of CHD5 encoding RNA, CHD5 encoding DNA, and fragments thereof.
23 - 36 . (canceled)
37 . The method of claim 21 , wherein said cancer is selected from the group consisting of neural cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer, liver tumors, and germ cell tumors.
38 . The method of claim 37 , wherein said cancer is a neural cancer.
39 . The method of claim 38 , wherein said neural cancer is selected from the group consisting of neuroblastoma, medulloblastoma, oligodendroglioma, meningioma, glioblastoma, neuroendocrine tumors, ependymomas, astrocytomas, and gliomas.
40 . The method of claim 39 , wherein said cancer is neuroblastoma.
41 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the said amount of said CHD5 encoding nucleic acid molecule determined in step c) is indicative of the clinical stage of said cancer.
42 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the said amount of said CHD5 encoding nucleic acid molecule determined in step c) is indicative of a poorer prognosis for said human.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
