Image forming apparatus
Abstract
An image forming apparatus according to an aspect of the invention includes: a media sensor that detects a type of a recording paper; a development unit configured to develop an image on the recording paper; a pair of rollers that fixes the image on the recording paper by nipping the recording paper bearing the image developed in the development unit and forcing the recording paper to pass by; a main heater that heats the pair of rollers by passing a current therethrough when the recording paper passes by; and an auxiliary heater that selectively heats at least one of the pair of rollers by passing a current therethrough when the recording paper passes by the pair of rollers in a case where the media sensor detects that the weight per unit of the recording paper or the thickness of the recording paper is equal to or greater than a specific value.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An image forming apparatus, comprising:
a sensor that detects a type of a recording paper; a development unit configured to develop an image on the recording paper; a first heater and a second heater configured to heat the development unit; a control circuit configured to control heat the second heater using signals relating the type of the recording paper output from the sensor.
2 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein:
the first heater and the second heater are provided in the development unit.
3 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 2 , further comprising an auxiliary power supply, wherein:
the second heater is provided power by the auxiliary power supply.
4 . An image forming apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein:
the first heater and the second heater are formed of halogen lamps.
5 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein:
the sensor detects the type of a recording paper by detecting a weight per unit of the recording paper.
6 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein:
the sensor detects the type of a recording paper by detecting a thickness of the recording paper.
7 . The image forming apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein:
the sensor detects the type of a recording paper by detecting reflecting light from the recording paper.
8 . An image forming apparatus, comprising:
a sensor that selects one of pre-stored types of mediums which are determined based on a basis weight and/or value of thickness; a roller that fixes an image on a media by forcing the media to pass by; a first heater that provides heat to the roller in response to timing to be passed by the media; and a second heater that selectively provides heat the roller according to the type of the media selected by the sensor equal to or greater than a specific value.
9 . An image forming apparatus, comprising:
a sensing means for detecting a type of a recording paper; a developing means for developing an image on the recording paper; a first heating means and a second heating means for heating the development unit; a control means for controlling heat the second heating means using signals relating the type of the recording paper output from the sensing means.
10 . An image forming method, comprising steps of:
detecting a type of a recording paper; developing an image on the recording paper by a development unit; heating the development unit by a first heating means and a second heating means; controlling heat by the second heating means using signals relating the type of the recording paper output from a sensing means.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
