Insert Device Holding Mount
Abstract
A mounting system made to hold secure a custom insert device and be attached securely to a water sport board or vessel by an adhesive layer. The purpose of the insert device holding mount is to provide a small, lightweight, durable, reliable and convenient electronic device holder that can be unobtrusively attached to a water sport board or vessel and endure rough water environments and conditions. Our patent application includes our primary insert device as a water resistant time piece device, yet we plan to design a variety of insert devices with different functions for the benefit of the users. The device holding mount will be made of a soft, yet rigid water and weather resistant material. The material we will use is EVA foam, which is a type of polyethylene foam material. This EVA material is commonly used as a durable padding material in a wide variety of products. In the future different types of water and weather resistant materials may be used for the insert device holding mount if we find a more suitable or alternative material that will function using the same design elements stated herein.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A convenient, water resistant mounting system to hold a desired insert device for use with water sport boards and vessels.
When the insert device holding mount is used with an insert device, wherein the insert device has a top side having indicia and display of the informational device readings generally mounted facing outward in the top, center of the insert device holding mount for convenient reading by the user.
2 . The insert device holding mount according to claim 1 , wherein the main body of the holding mount has a top surface with a holder cavity designed to match the shape of the insert module device for a secure press fit hold on the device module.
3 . The insert device holding mount according to claim 2 , wherein the device holder cavity side surfaces are parallel to the side surfaces of the insert device.
4 . The insert device holding mount according to claim 2 , wherein the rigid insert device is held secure by the compression of the flexible holding mount material around the insert device.
5 . The insert device holding mount according to claim 4 , wherein the insert device is held secure, yet the insert device can be removed and replaced if necessary or desired.
6 . The insert device holding mount according to claim 4 , wherein the flexible material is a polyethylene closed cell foam rubber.
7 . The insert device holding mount according to claim 1 , wherein the outer edges of the mount are slightly angled or rounded to deflect moving water energy over the mounting system. Designed to stay attached securely to a surface and hold the insert device secure when turbulent water conditions are present.
8 . The insert device holding mount according to claim 1 , wherein a contact adhesive is applied to the bottom side of the insert device holding mount to allow permanent attachment to a desired planar surface on a water sport board or vessel.
Accordingly, it is a principal object of the invention to offer a means of attaching a device to a water sport board or vessel so as to be convenient, compact, out of the way, yet visually accessible to the user. An additional object of the invention is to provide a compact mounting system for a water-resistant time piece that does not have to be worn on the body and can be permanently attached to a water sport board or vessel for use with that water sport board or vessel. It is a further object of the invention to provide improved elements and arrangements thereof in an apparatus for the purposes described which is inexpensive, dependable and fully effective in accomplishing its intended purposes. These and other objects of the present invention will become readily apparent upon further review of the following specification and drawings.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
