Abstract

The trash bag with drawstring and air vents is installed in a trashcan, the vent openings around its perimeter effectively allowing any air trapped between the walls of the trashcan and the bag to escape, thereby facilitating installation. A flap is disposed over the vent openings to prevent trash from falling through the openings. A drawstring is positioned around the top of the bag to close the bag when desired. The bag is sprayed or otherwise coated with a pleasantly scented fragrance to inhibit odious smells that might emanate from the trash accumulated in the bag.

         8 . A trash receptacle, comprising:
a bag having a continuous wall, an open top and a closed bottom, the continuous wall having a perimeter; a hemmed section positioned at the open top and extending completely around the perimeter of the bag; a drawstring encapsulated in the hemmed section; and a plurality of vent openings disposed in the continuous wall, the vent openings being spaced below the hem section and evenly spaced completely around the perimeter of the bag.

9 . The trash receptacle according to claim 8 , further including a flap attached to the open top, said flap terminating in a free end extending into said bag and overlying said vent openings.

10 . The trash receptacle according to claim 8 , further including diametrically positioned openings formed in said hemmed section, said drawstring being exposed at said openings.

11 . The trash receptacle according to claim 8 , further comprising a pleasantly scented fragrance coated on the bag.
