Abstract
The present invention is a scarf worn over-the-shoulder to accommodate any size, gender, age or physical capability and relates to improvement in essential support and concealment to the fluid collection reservoir or other external device or hardware. More particularly, the present invention creates a hands-free support and concealment to the drain collection reservoir or other medical device, without dismantling and threading a drain tube, enabling the patient to bathe unencumbered, perform physical or occupational therapies, provides patient confidence by providing concealment under the hospital gown or normal outer garments, earlier patient mobility, or positioning ease for x-ray examinations.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A garment for a patient to wear for carrying and supporting drain collection bulbs or a medical appliance, the garment comprising:
(a) a garment having two front mesh fabric, portions shaped like a scarf with a tapered middle section that fits over-the-shoulders and across the nape of a wearer; (b) said garment having a one-piece body; (c) two expandable pockets attached to said body at each end of said scarf; (d) one expandable pocket sewn to a back of said scarf at one end, and (e) a second expandable pocket sewn to a front of said same end of said scarf making a total of four expandable pockets.

The garment according to claim 1 that further includes a removable back connecting strap attaches by hook and loop fasteners between the mid or approximate waist level to said back portion of said scarf to prevent said scarf ends from falling forward when said wearer bends forward, whereby keeping said expandable pockets close to said wearer's body, thereby preventing pulling on a device tubing.
3 . The garment according to claim 1 wherein said scarf portion is elongated oval in shape with a tapered middle section.
4 . The garment according to claim 1 wherein said expandable pockets are a patch of matching material, mesh or cotton, depending upon the scarf style, attached to said front scarf body at each end portion.
5 . The garment according to claim 1 wherein said expandable pockets are a patch of matching mesh or other material, depending upon said scarf style, attached to said back scarf body at each end portion.
6 . The garment according to claim 1 that further includes an optional connecting back strap, approximately waist level, is removably attached to back edges of said scarf body.

The garment according to claim 1 that further includes a method for wearing said garment to carry a medical appliance, said scarf sized to fit pediatrics through adult, comprising of a scarf shaped in an elongated oval with a tapered middle section to best fit over-the-shoulders, is worn over-the-shoulder, the mid body line having two expandable pockets attached thereto on both front and back sides and at each end of the scarf, for a total of four expandable pockets, enabling said wearer to bathe or go about daily routine with hands free from supporting said medical appliance.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
