Abstract

A rotatable toy device having a plurality of resilient vanes. The vanes may include indicia and are conveniently arcuately shaped with a diametrically opposed pair generally having a sinusoidal shape. The vanes are orthogonally disposed and fit together in an inter digitated manner for enhanced strength. The article is made even more robust with a mounting base with an integrally connected clamping mechanism.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A rotatable toy device, comprising:
a central hollow tubular support member having opposed ends; a plurality of arcuate vanes fixedly connected to said tubular support member, a diametrically opposed pair having a wave type profile and a single piece construction, individual pairs being inter digitally connected to form said central hollow tubular support member; a receiving rod having opposed ends for rotatably receiving said central hollow tubular support member; a mounting base connected to said receiving rod, said base having reinforcement means for reinforcing said base against flexure; lock means on one end of said opposed ends of said receiving rod for preventing disengagement of said plurality of arcuate vanes from said receiving rod; and clamp means integral with said mounting base for releasably clamping said mounting base to an object.

2 . The toy device as set forth in claim 1 , wherein said diametrically opposed pair of arcuate vanes has a sinusoidal shaped profile.

3 . The toy device as set forth in claim 1 , wherein other end of said ends includes spacer means for spacing said end from said mounting base.

4 . The toy device as set forth in claim 1 , wherein said clamp means comprises a pair of U shaped sections joined by a living hinge.

5 . The toy device as set forth in claim 1 , wherein said plurality of arcuate vanes are curved to capture airflow and induce rotation in air flow.

6 . The toy device as set forth in claim 4 , wherein said clamp means further includes a secondary clamping device.

7 . The toy device as set forth in claim 6 , wherein said secondary clamping device comprises a wing nut and bolt.

8 . The toy device as set forth in claim 1 , wherein said mounting base has an aerodynamic profile.

9 . The toy device as set forth in claim 8 , wherein said aerodynamic profile is configured to spoil airflow towards said vanes.

10 . The toy device as set forth in claim 1 , in combination with bicycle handlebars.

11 . The toy device as set forth in claim 1 , wherein said lock means comprises a compression fit head fixedly secured within said central hollow tubular support.

12 . The toy device as set forth in claim 1 , wherein said vanes are orthogonally and inter digitally connected.

13 . The toy device as set forth in claim 7 , wherein said mounting base includes a guide member extending upwardly from said mounting base for guiding true rotation of said vanes during rotation thereof.

14 . The toy device as set forth in claim 2 , wherein said mounting base integrally includes said clamping means in a one piece construction.

       15 . A rotatable device, comprising:
a plurality of sinusoidal vane members each having a portion of a tubular support member centrally thereof, a diametrically opposed pair having a wave type profile each vane member of said members being inter digitally connected to form a central hollow tubular support member from each said portion; a receiving rod having opposed ends for rotatably receiving said central hollow tubular support member; a mounting base connected to said receiving rod, said base having reinforcement means for reinforcing said base against flexure; lock means on one end of said opposed ends of said receiving rod, said central hollow tubular support for preventing disengagement of said plurality of vane members from said receiving rod; and clamp means integral with said mounting base having a living hinge connecting two clamp members configured to provide a clamping configuration when said members are in facing relation.

16 . The rotatable device as set forth in claim 15 , wherein at least one of said clamp members includes an aperture to receive the other end of said ends of said receiving rod.

17 . The rotatable device as set forth in claim 1 , further including auxiliary lock means for said clamp means and said mounting base.

18 . The rotatable device as set forth in claim 15 , further including auxiliary lock means for said clamp means and said mounting base.

19 . The rotatable device as set forth in claim 17 , wherein said auxiliary lock means includes a fastener for connection with said receiving rod and said clamp means.

20 . The rotatable device as set forth in claim 18 , wherein said auxiliary lock means includes a fastener for connection with said receiving rod and said clamp means.

21 . The rotatable device as set forth in claim 1 , wherein said clamping means comprises a pair of strap members adapted for releasable connection with a fastener.

22 . The rotatable device as set forth in claim 21 , wherein said strap members each includes a fastener.

23 . The rotatable device as set forth in claim 22 , wherein said strap members comprise a web type material.
