Abstract

A refrigerator has a freezing chamber at the bottom, and a refrigerating chamber over the freezing chamber. The refrigerator includes an ice making unit and an ice dispenser mounted in a refrigerating chamber door that allows ice to be dispensed without opening the door. A sub-PCB is mounted in the refrigerating chamber door for controlling operations of the ice making unit and the dispenser. A cold air supply duct supplies cold air from a cold air supply unit to the ice making unit.

1 . A refrigerator, comprising:
 a main body, the main body including:
 a refrigerating chamber; 
 a freezing chamber located below the refrigerating chamber; 
   a door for opening/closing the refrigerating chamber;   an ice making assembly provided at the door;   a dispenser located on a front of the door for dispensing ice from the ice making assembly, the dispenser including:
 a dispenser base positioned in a recess formed in a front of the door; 
 a dispenser cover extending along a front face of the dispenser base; 
 a sub-PCB located behind the dispenser base such that the dispenser base shields the sub-PCB from water or ice dispensed from the dispenser, the sub-PCB being configured to control operation of at least the ice making assembly; and 
   a PCB supporter mounted on a rear side of the dispenser base, wherein the PCB supporter is configured to receive the sub-PCB so as to position the sub-PCB a predetermined distance away from the dispenser base.   
   
   
       2 . The refrigerator of  claim 1 , further comprising an aperture formed in the dispenser base to allow the sub-PCB to pass therethrough, wherein the aperture is formed adjacent to the PCB supporter such that the sub-PCB is inserted through the aperture and mounted on the PCB supporter. 
   
   
       3 . The refrigerator of  claim 1 , wherein the dispenser base comprises:
 an upper wall including an ice outlet and a water outlet;   a vertical wall that extends vertically downward from an outer peripheral edge of the upper wall; and   a bottom wall that extends horizontally from a bottom peripheral edge of the vertical wall, wherein the vertical wall has a rounded contour that extends rearward from an open front face of the dispenser base.   
   
   
       4 . The refrigerator of  claim 3 , further comprising an aperture formed in the vertical wall of the dispenser base, wherein the sub-PCB is mounted on the PCB supporter through the aperture from a front of the door. 
   
   
       5 . The refrigerator of  claim 1 , wherein the PCB supporter comprises:
 a mounting portion that is formed as a recess and that extends backward from the dispenser, the mounting portion having a flat surface for receiving the sub-PCB; and   a plurality of supporting members that project from the mounting portion and that are configured to hold edges of the sub-PCB.   
   
   
       6 . The refrigerator of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a display for displaying at least a temperature inside the refrigerating chamber and the freezing chamber; and   a plurality of operation buttons for inputting operation commands.   
   
   
       7 . The refrigerator of  claim 1 , further comprising a main-PCB which is separate from the sub-PCB. 
   
   
       8 . The refrigerator of  claim 2 , wherein the sub-PCB is located at a position higher than the aperture. 
   
   
       9 . The refrigerator of  claim 4 , wherein the sub-PCB is located at a position higher than the aperture.
