Multiple language support system and method for application

Abstract

A multiple language support system and method. The multiple language system includes a multiple language support system for an application, the system includes a resource data generation unit to generate resource data for the language of the application, a resource data processing unit to extract resource data from the generated resource data by language of the system environment on which the application is executed, and convert the extracted resource data into the language of the application, and a resource data management unit to manage the resource data used in the application.

1 . A multiple language support system for an application, the system comprising:
 a resource data generation unit which generates first resource data according to a plurality of languages available for use in the application;   a resource data processing unit which extracts second resource data from the first resource data according to a first language used in an operating system on which the application is executed, and which converts the second resource data into a second language selected from the plurality of languages for use in the application to generate third resource data; and   a resource data management unit which stores the third resource data into a memory of the multiple language support system,   wherein the second language used in the application is selected while installing or executing the application.   
   
   
       2 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the resource data generation unit generates the first resource data based on at least one of resource data stored in a recording medium and resource data received through a communication medium. 
   
   
       3 . The system of  claim 2 , wherein each of the first through third resource data includes at least one of Menu, Help, Toolbar, Icon, Dialog and Font for a language, and information on a country. 
   
   
       4 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the resource data processing unit generates a graphical user interface for changing the second language of the application while the application is executing. 
   
   
       5 . The system of  claim 1 , further comprising a language conversion unit which converts the first and second languages of data transmitted between the application and the operating system. 
   
   
       6 . The system of  claim 5 , wherein the language conversion unit receives data from the application in a common language used by all applications. 
   
   
       7 . The system of  claim 6 , wherein the language conversion unit converts the data received from the application from the common language into the first language supported by the operating system, and transmits the data converted into the first language supported by the operating system to the operating system. 
   
   
       8 . The system of  claim 7 , wherein the language conversion unit converts the data transmitted from the operating system into the common language and transmits the data converted into the common language to the application. 
   
   
       9 . A multiple language support method for an application executed on a computer device comprising a processor having computer device-executable instructions, the method comprising:
 generating, using the processor, first resource data according to a plurality of languages available for use in the application;   extracting second resource data from the first resource data according to a first language of an operating system on which the application is executed, and converting the second resource data into a second language selected from the plurality of languages for use in the application to generate third resource data; and   storing the third resource data into a memory,   wherein the second language used in the application is selected while installing or executing the application.   
   
   
       10 . The method of  claim 9 , wherein the first resource data is generated based on at least one of resource data stored in a recording medium and resource data received through a communication medium. 
   
   
       11 . The method of  claim 10 , wherein the each of the first through third resource data includes at least one of Menu, Help, Toolbar, Icon, Dialog and Font for a language, and information on a country. 
   
   
       12 . The method of  claim 9 , wherein the converting the second resource data comprises generating a graphical user interface for changing the second language of the application while the application is executing. 
   
   
       13 . The method of  claim 9 , further comprising converting the first and second languages of data transmitted between the application and the operating system. 
   
   
       14 . The method of  claim 13 , wherein the converting the first and second languages of data transmitted between the application and the operating system comprises receiving the data from the application in a common language used by all applications. 
   
   
       15 . The method of  claim 14 , wherein the converting the first and second languages of data transmitted between the application and the operating system further comprises converting the data received from the application from the common language into the first language supported by the operating system, and transmitting the data converted into the first language supported by the operating system to the operating system.

The method of  claim 15 , wherein the converting the first and second languages of data transmitted between the application and the operating system further comprises converting a language of the data transmitted from the operating system into the common language, and transmitting the data converted into the common language to the application. 
   
   
       17 . A multiple language support system for an application, the system comprising:
 means for generating first resource data according to a plurality of languages available for use in the application;   means for extracting second resource data from the first resource data according to a first language used in an operating system on which the application is executed, and converting the second resource data into a second language selected from the plurality of languages for use in the application to generate third resource data; and   means for storing the third resource data into a memory of the multiple language support system,   wherein the second language used in the application is selected while installing or executing the application.   
   
   
       18 . The system of  claim 17 , wherein each of the first through third resource data includes at least one of Menu, Help, Toolbar, Icon, Dialog and Font for a language, and information on a country. 
   
   
       19 . The system of  claim 17 , further comprising means for generating a graphical user interface for changing the second language of the application while the application is executing. 
   
   
       20 . The system of  claim 17 , further comprising means for converting the first and second languages of data transmitted between the application and the operating system. 
   
   
       21 . The system of  claim 20 , wherein the means for converting converts the data received from the application from a common language into the first language supported by the operating system, and transmits the data converted into the first language supported by the operating system to the operating system. 
   
   
       22 . The system of  claim 21 , wherein the means for converting converts the data transmitted from the operating system into the common language, and transmits the data converted into the common language to the application.
