Beverage infuser

Abstract

An infuser containing food additives and flavorings is disclosed. The infuser can be used to add flavors to liquids such as alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails. The infuser may be made of a semi-porous material such as paper, nylon or silk, but not limited to just these and can have a variety of shapes including a rectangular or triangular shape.

1 . A method of providing ingredients to be infused into an alcoholic cocktail, the method comprising the steps of:
 (a) placing one or more ingredients into an infuser comprised of a material allowing the ingredients to infuse from the infuser upon the infuser being immersed into an alcoholic cocktail, the ingredients and specifically adapted for use in an alcoholic cocktail; and   (b) sealing the infuser.   
   
   
       2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein said step (a) of placing one or more ingredients into an infuser comprises the step of placing one or more of spice, fruit, vegetable, nut, herb, root, plant, salt, sugar, flower, quinine into the infuser. 
   
   
       3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein said step (a) of placing one or more ingredients into an infuser comprises the step of placing the one or more ingredients in a whole, crushed, powdered, ground, dried and/or extract form of the ingredients into the infuser. 
   
   
       4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein said step (a) of placing one or more ingredients into an infuser comprises the step of placing the one or more ingredients being natural and/or organic into the infuser. 
   
   
       5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein said step (a) of placing one or more ingredients into an infuser comprised of a material allowing the ingredients to infuse out of the infuser comprises the step of forming the infuser of one of paper, silk and nylon. 
   
   
       6 . A method of preparing an alcoholic cocktail, the method comprising the steps of:
 (a) pouring one or more liquids into a container, the one or more liquids including at least one alcoholic beverage; and   (b) infusing one or more ingredients into the one or more liquids, said step (b) of infusing one or more ingredients comprising the step of placing an infuser in which the one or more ingredients are contained into the container, and letting the one or more ingredients infuse into the one or more liquids from within the infuser.   
   
   
       7 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein said step (b) comprises the step of placing the infuser with one or more ingredients in a container with ice and the one or more liquids, shaking the container, and straining the infused one or more liquids into an appropriate vessel for consumption. 
   
   
       8 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein said step (b) of infusing the one or more ingredients comprises the step of infusing one or more of spice, fruit, vegetable, nut, herb, root, plant, salt, sugar, flower, quinine into the one or more liquids. 
   
   
       9 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein said step (b) of infusing the one or more ingredients comprises the step of infusing the one or more ingredients in a whole, crushed, powdered, ground, dried and/or extract form of the ingredients. 
   
   
       10 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein said step (b) of infusing the one or more ingredients comprises the step of infusing one or more ingredients being natural and/or organic. 
   
   
       11 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein said step (b) of infusing the one or more ingredients comprises the step of infusing a plurality of ingredients from within the same infuser. 
   
   
       12 . A method of preparing a cocktail, the method comprising the steps of:
 (a) pouring one or more liquids into a container;   (b) placing a infuser including one or more ingredients into the container;   (c) mixing the one or more liquids and infuser within the container, said step of mixing infusing one or more ingredients from the infuser into the one or more liquids; and   (d) pouring the contents of the container into a vessel, the infuser being held back in the container.   
   
   
       13 . The method of  claim 12 , wherein said step (a) of pouring one or more liquids into a container comprises the step of pouring one or more alcoholic beverages into the container. 
   
   
       14 . The method of  claim 13 , further comprising the step (e) of adding ice to the container. 
   
   
       15 . The method of  claim 12 , wherein said step (b) of placing an infuser including one or more ingredients into the container comprises the step of placing an infuser including one or more of spice, fruit, vegetable, nut, herb, root, plant, salt, sugar, flower, quinine into the container. 
   
   
       16 . The method of  claim 12 , wherein said step (b) of placing an infuser including one or more ingredients into the container comprises the step of placing an infuser including the ingredients in a whole, crushed, powdered, ground, dried and/or extract form into the container. 
   
   
       17 . The method of  claim 12 , wherein said step (b) of placing an infuser including one or more ingredients into the container comprises the step of placing an infuser including ingredients being natural and or organic.
