Abstract
A hydrodynamic retarder with tangential inflow and outflow is formed with at least one radial recess ( 3 ), in the stator, which extends radially outward when viewed in the radial direction. The at least one radial recess ( 3 ) is arranged so as to enable one of back-feed and back-filling of the oil, emerging through the tangential outlet, into the pressure space.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 6 . (canceled)
7 . A hydrodynamic retarder with tangential inflow and outflow,
wherein a stator of the hydrodynamic retarder has at least one radial recess ( 3 ) is formed therein, the at least one radial recess ( 3 ), when viewed radially, extends outward in such a manner that in the event of partial filling, either a back-feed or back-filling of oil emerging through a tangential outlet of the retarder, into a pressure space, is possible.
8 . The hydrodynamic retarder with tangential inflow and outflow according to claim 7 , wherein a degree of back-feeding is at least one of determined and adjusted by virtue of a number and dimensions of the recesses ( 3 ).
9 . The hydrodynamic retarder with tangential inflow and outflow according to claim 7 , wherein the recesses ( 3 ) are arranged one symmetrically and asymmetrically around a periphery of a blade wheel ( 2 ).
10 . The hydrodynamic retarder with tangential inflow and outflow according to claim 7 , wherein the recesses ( 3 ) have equal dimensions.
11 . The hydrodynamic retarder with tangential inflow and outflow according to claim 7 , wherein the recesses ( 3 ) have different dimensions.
12 . The hydrodynamic retarder with tangential inflow and outflow according to claim 7 , wherein the diameter of the recesses ( 3 ) varies along a length thereof.
13 . A Hydrodynamic retarder with tangential inflow and outflow, the retarder comprising:
a stator having a plurality of radial recesses ( 3 ) which extend radially outward such that when partially filled, oil flowing through a tangential outlet of the retarder is one of back-fed and back-filled into a pressure space of the retarder, with an amount of the oil being one of back-fed and back-filled into the pressure space being dependent on a quantity and size of the plurality of channels ( 3 ).Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
