Abstract
An fitness apparatus is adapted for use by employing, a first shaft member, a second shaft member, at least one receptacle, and at least one substantially perpendicular extension. The first shaft member includes a longitudinal portion, a base portion, and a longitudinal sleeve portion extending from opposing ends, while the longitudinal sleeve portion is configured to receive a second shaft member. The second shaft member includes a plate member and a sub-member which extend from opposing ends, while the sub-member is configured to adapt the longitudinal sleeve portion. The at least one substantially perpendicular extension extends from the at least one receptacle. The first shaft member and the second shaft member cooperate to secure the fitness apparatus between two or more planes.

A first shaft member comprising a longitudinal portion, a base portion and a longitudinal sleeve portion extending from opposing ends, the longitudinal sleeve portion configured for receiving a second shaft member; A second shaft member comprising a plate member and a sub-member extending from opposing ends; the sub-member configured to adapt the longitudinal sleeve portion; At least one receptacle formed from the first shaft member for receiving at least one substantially perpendicular extension; and At least one substantially perpendicular extension extending from the at least one receptacle; wherein the first shaft member and the second shaft member cooperate to secure the fitness apparatus between two or more planes.
2 . The fitness apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the one or more substantially perpendicular extensions are fixedly attached to the one or more receptacles.
3 . The fitness apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the one or more substantially perpendicular extensions are welded to the one or more receptacles.
4 . The fitness apparatus of claim 1 , the longitudinal sleeve portion further comprising a flange portion for adapting the sub-member.
5 . The fitness apparatus of claim 4 , wherein the flange portion and the sub-member are threaded for engaging one another.
6 . The fitness apparatus of claim 5 , wherein the flange portion has a larger diameter than a non-threaded portion of the sub-member.
7 . The fitness apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the base portion and the plate member align along substantially parallel planes.
8 . The fitness apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the first shaft member is substantially hollow.
9 . A fitness apparatus comprising:
a first shaft member having at least two longitudinally distributed substantially perpendicular extensions and a longitudinal sleeve portion configured for receiving a second shaft member; a second shaft member having a plate member and a sub-member configured to mate with the first shaft member; and at least one additional substantially perpendicular extension extending from the first shaft member and disposed opposite the at least two longitudinally distributed substantially perpendicular extensions; wherein the first shaft member and the second shaft member secure the fitness apparatus between two planes while distributing loads exerted on the at least two longitudinally distributed substantially perpendicular extensions and the at least one additional substantially perpendicular extension.
10 . The fitness apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the at least two longitudinally distributed substantially perpendicular extensions establish a v-shape.
11 . The fitness apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the at least one additional substantially perpendicular extension is separated from the at least two longitudinally distributed substantially perpendicular extensions by at least ninety degrees.
12 . The fitness apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the at least two substantially perpendicular extensions form an angle of less than ninety degrees relative to one another.
13 . The fitness apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the first shaft member has a non-uniform cross section.
14 . A fitness apparatus comprising:
a first shaft member and a second shaft member; the first shaft member having one or more longitudinally spaced apertures, a base portion, and a longitudinal sleeve portion having a recessed end configured to receive the second shaft member; the second shaft member having a plate component and a threaded longitudinal sub-member, the threaded longitudinal component being configured to mate with the first shaft member; a collar having two or more receptacles configured to engage an substantially perpendicular extension; and a mating apparatus for removably coupling the collar to the first shaft member via the one or more longitudinally spaced apertures.
15 . The fitness apparatus of claim 14 , wherein the first shaft member and the second shaft member rotate to secure the fitness apparatus between two planes.
