Abstract
A housing for a mechanical or electrical device for use with an aerosol canister for containing chemical comprising a sleeve for receipt of the aerosol canister, a collar affixable around the neck of the canister; and a joint between the sleeve and the collar to secure the housing to the canister.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 50 . (canceled)
51 . An assembly comprising:
(a) a container configured to contain a product, the container having:
(i) an end surface, and
(ii) a neck underneath the end surface, the neck having an outer surface which tapers outwardly in a direction towards the end surface;
(b) a cap member non-removably mounted on the container end surface, the cap member having:
(i) a bearing surface bearing against the container end surface, and
(ii) a sleeve disposed about the neck so that an inner surface of the sleeve is in facing relation with the neck outer surface; and
(c) an annular collar wedged between the sleeve inner surface and the neck outer surface and joined to the sleeve inner surface by a permanent joint.
52 . The assembly of claim 51 , wherein the collar is an annular member having a pair of free ends that are circumferentially separated from each other by a split through the annular member.
53 . The assembly of claim 51 , wherein the end surface is at an outlet end of the container having an outlet through which the product is able to be dispensed from the container.
54 . The assembly of claim 53 , wherein the container is a dispensing container for a fluid and the outlet is configured to dispense measured doses of the fluid from the container when present therein.
55 . The assembly of claim 54 , wherein the dispensing container is an aerosol container and the outlet is a valve.
56 . The assembly of claim 54 , wherein the cap member is a dose counter.
57 . The assembly of claim 55 , wherein the aerosol container contains a medicament in a propellant and the cap member is a dose counter.
58 . The assembly of claim 51 , wherein the permanent joint is a weld.
59 . The assembly of claim 58 , wherein the weld comprises a plurality of spot welds.
60 . The assembly of claim 58 , wherein the weld is an ultrasonic weld.
61 . The assembly of claim 58 , wherein the collar and the sleeve are made from the same material.
62 . The assembly of claim 61 , wherein the container has a central axis which extends through the end surface and wherein the cap member is immovable axially with respect to the container.
63 . The assembly of claim 57 , wherein the end surface is presented by a ferrule.
64 . The assembly of claim 63 , wherein the neck outer surface against which the collar is wedged is presented by the ferrule.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
