Abstract

A method for a repair of materials used in the manufacture of non-structural aircraft interior components includes the steps of laying fiberglass over a damaged surface and adhering the fiberglass with a fast-adhering glue, that includes at least one of cyanoacrylate and a cyanoacrylate activator for repairing the surface, to the damaged surface. A related method that includes applying a cyanoacrylate activator is used for removing pen and pencil marks for a synthetic leather material.

       11 . A process for repairing materials used in manufacturing non-structural aircraft interior components, comprising the steps of
 laying fiberglass over a damaged surface; and,   adhering the fiberglass to the damaged surface with a fast-acting glue containing at least one of cyanoacrylate and a cyanoacrylate activator, thereby repairing the damaged surface.   
   
   
       12 . The process for repairing materials used in manufacturing non-structural interior components according to  claim 11 , wherein the fiberglass is formed as a fiberglass mat. 
   
   
       13 . The process for repairing materials used in manufacturing non-structural interior components according to  claim 12 , wherein the fiberglass mat includes an adhesive backing for providing an initial bond with the damaged surface. 
   
   
       14 . The process for repairing material used in manufacturing non-structural interior components according to  claim 13 , wherein the adhesive backing is a rubber-acrylic compound elastomeric-adhesive resin that flexibly adheres the fiberglass mat to the damaged surface. 
   
   
       15 . A process for removing pen marks and pencil marks from a synthetic leather material, comprising the step of:
 applying a cyanoacrylate activator to a synthetic leather material for removing a pen mark or a pencil mark.   
   
   
       16 . The process for removing pen marks and pencil marks from a synthetic material according to  claim 15 , wherein said step of applying a cyanoacrylate activator to a synthetic leather material includes the sub-steps of:
 stroking the cyanoacrylate activator over the pen mark or pencil mark to be removed using a brush until the pen mark or pencil mark fades;   dabbing the synthetic leather material with a cloth;   allowing the synthetic leather material to dry; and,   repeating said steps of stroking the cyanoacrylate activator over the pen mark or pencil mark, dabbing the synthetic leather material with a cloth and allowing the synthetic leather material to dry until the pen mark or pencil mark becomes unnoticeable.   
   
   
       17 . The process for removing pen marks and pencil marks from a synthetic material according to  claim 16 , further including the sub-steps of:
 spraying the synthetic leather material with an aviation cleaner; and,   lightly wiping areas of the pen mark or pencil mark with a cloth for removing any halo effect that may have appeared while removing the pen mark or pencil mark.   
   
   
       18 . The process for removing pen marks and pencil marks from a synthetic material according to  claim 15 , wherein the cyanoacrylate activator includes acetone and an amine.
