Abstract
A system includes an anesthetic agent container. The system also includes an adapter including a spout with a first end and a second end mounted on the container. The spout has a flow path extending between the first end and the second end, and a valve is disposed in the flow path, the valve being rotatable between a first position wherein flow is prevented through the adapter and a second position wherein flow is allowed through the adapter.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A system comprising:
an anesthetic agent container; an adapter including a spout with a first end and a second end mounted on the container, the spout having a flow path extending between the first end and the second end; and a valve disposed in the flow path, the valve being rotatable between a first position wherein flow is prevented through the adapter and a second position wherein flow is allowed through the adapter.
2 . The system according to claim 1 , wherein the valve is rotatable between the first position wherein the flow path is closed and the second position where the flow path is open.
3 . The system according to claim 1 , wherein the container houses an amount of an anesthetic agent.
4 . The system according to claim 3 , wherein the anesthetic agent comprises desflurane.
5 . The system according to claim 1 , wherein the base is secured to the container by a ferrule.
6 . The system according to claim 1 , wherein the flow path is a single flow path.
7 . An adapter for establishing fluid communication between an anesthetic agent container and an anesthetic vaporizer having a fluid port, the adapter comprising:
a spout with a first end and a second end mounted on the anesthetic agent container, the spout having a flow path extending between the first end and the second end; and a valve disposed in the flow path, the valve being rotatable between a first position wherein flow is prevented through the adapter and a second position wherein flow is allowed through the adapter.
8 . The system according to claim 7 , wherein the valve is rotatable between the first position wherein the flow path is closed and the second position where the flow path is open.
9 . The system according to claim 7 , wherein the flow path is a single flow path.
10 . A system comprising:
an anesthetic agent container; an adapter including a generally tubular spout with a first end having a generally annular end lip configured to be received by a fluid port of a vaporizer and a second end with an associated base directly mounted on the container, the spout having a flow path extending between the first end and the second end to allow liquid anesthetic to flow from the container to the vaporizer and vapor to flow from the vaporizer to the container; and a valve disposed in the flow path, the valve being rotatable relative to the adapter between a first position wherein flow is prevented through the adapter between the container and the vaporizer and a second position wherein flow is allowed through the adapter between the container and the vaporizer.
11 . The system according to claim 10 , wherein the container houses an amount of an anesthetic agent.
12 . The system according to claim 11 , wherein the anesthetic agent comprises desflurane.
13 . The system according to claim 10 , wherein the base is secured to the container by a ferrule.
14 . The system according to claim 10 , wherein the flow path is a single flow path.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
