Abstract
A flex-rigid wiring board including a rigid wiring board including a rigid base material and having a conductive layer over the rigid base material, and a flexible wiring board including a flexible base material and having a conductive layer over the flexible base material. The conductive layer of the flexible wiring board is electrically connected to the conductive layer of the rigid wiring board. The flexible wiring board has a cut portion and one or more folding portions formed by using the cut portion and folding one or more portions of the flexible wiring board such that the flexible wiring board is extended in length.

a rigid wiring board comprising a rigid base material and having a conductive layer over the rigid base material; and a flexible wiring board comprising a flexible base material and having a conductive layer over the flexible base material, the conductive layer of the flexible wiring board being electrically connected to the conductive layer of the rigid wiring board, wherein the flexible wiring board has a cut portion and at least one folding portion formed by using the cut portion and folding at least one portion of the flexible wiring board such that the flexible wiring board is extended in length.
2 . The flex-rigid wiring board according to claim 1 , wherein the cut portion has a tip which is beveled.
3 . The flex-rigid wiring board according to claim 1 , wherein the folding portion of the flexible wiring board is made more bendable than a rest of the flexible wiring board.
4 . The flex-rigid wiring board according to claim 1 , wherein the flexible wiring board has a laminated structure, and the folding portion is formed by removing a predetermined layer from the laminated structure.
5 . The flex-rigid wiring board according to claim 1 , wherein the flexible wiring board has a laminated structure including an electromagnetic-wave shielding layer, and the shielding layer has a portion removed at the folding portion.

The flex-rigid wiring board according to claim 1 , further comprising a second rigid wiring board connected to the rigid wiring board via the flexible wiring board, and the flexible wiring board covers substantially an entire space between the rigid wiring board and the second rigid wiring board.
7 . The flex-rigid wiring board according to claim 1 , wherein the flexible wiring board is positioned in a horizontal direction with respect to the rigid base material of the rigid wiring board, the rigid wiring board comprising an insulation layer covering the rigid base material and the flexible wiring board while exposing at least a portion of the flexible wiring board, the conductive layer of the rigid wiring board is formed over the insulation layer, and the conductive layer of the flexible wiring board is connected to the conductive layer of the rigid wiring board via a plated film through the insulation layer.
8 . The flex-rigid wiring board according to claim 1 , wherein the conductor of the flexible wiring board is connected to the conductor of the rigid wiring board in a perpendicular direction with respect to a longitudinal direction in which the conductor of the flexible wiring board extends before the flexible wiring board is extended in length.
9 . A method for manufacturing a flex-rigid wiring board, comprising:
preparing a flexible wiring board comprising a flexible base material and having a conductive layer over the flexible base material; making a cut in the flexible wiring board to form a cut portion; and folding at least one portion of the flexible wiring board using the cut portion to form at least one folding portion such that the flexible wiring board is extended in length; and connecting the flexible wiring board to a rigid wiring board comprising a rigid base material and having a conductive layer over the rigid base material.
10 . The method for manufacturing a flex-rigid wiring board according to claim 9 , wherein the preparing of the flexible wiring board is carried out first, the making of the cut is carried out second, and the folding of the flexible wiring board is carried out third in an order.
11 . The method for manufacturing a flex-rigid wiring board according to claim 9 , wherein the preparing of the flexible wiring board is carried out first, the connecting of the flexible wiring board to the rigid wiring board is carried out second, and the making of the cut is carried out third in an order.
12 . The method for manufacturing a flex-rigid wiring board according to claim 9 , wherein the connecting of the flexible wiring board to the rigid wiring board is carried out prior to the folding of the flexible wiring board.
13 . The method for manufacturing a flex-rigid wiring board according to claim 9 , wherein the making of the cut comprises beveling a tip of the cut portion.
14 . The method for manufacturing a flex-rigid wiring board according to claim 9 , further comprising removing a portion of the flexible wiring board from the folding portion such that the folding portion of the flexible wiring board is made more bendable than a rest of the flexible wiring board.
15 . The method for manufacturing a flex-rigid wiring board according to claim 14 , wherein the flexible wiring board has a laminated structure, and the removing of a portion of the flexible wiring board comprises removing a predetermined layer from the laminated structure.
16 . The method for manufacturing a flex-rigid wiring board according to claim 14 , wherein the flexible wiring board has a laminated structure including an electromagnetic-wave shielding layer, and the removing of a portion of the flexible wiring board comprises removing a portion of the shielding layer from the folding portion.
17 . The method for manufacturing a flex-rigid wiring board according to claim 9 , wherein the connecting the flexible wiring board to the rigid wiring board comprises forming the rigid wiring board at an end portion of the flexible wiring board.
18 . The method for manufacturing a flex-rigid wiring board according to claim 9 , wherein the connecting the flexible wiring board to the rigid wiring board comprises electrically connecting the conductive layer of the rigid wiring board to the conductive layer of the flexible wiring board.
19 . The method for manufacturing a flex-rigid wiring board according to claim 9 , wherein the connecting the flexible wiring board to the rigid wiring board comprises forming the rigid wiring board, the forming of the rigid wiring board comprises positioning the flexible wiring board adjacent to the rigid base material and forming an insulation layer covering the rigid base material and at least a portion of the flexible wiring board.
20 . The method for manufacturing a flex-rigid wiring board according to claim 19 , wherein the connecting the flexible wiring board to the rigid wiring board comprises forming the conductive layer of the rigid wiring board over the insulation layer, forming a via hole opening which penetrates the insulation layer, and filling the via hole opening with a conductor such that the conductive layer of the rigid wiring board is electrically connected to the conductive layer of the flexible wiring board.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
