Abstract
The present invention pertains to a method for the preparation of putamen ovi, putamen ovi having a defined grain size distribution, and to the use of putamen ovi for the treatment of calcium deficiency and other disease conditions.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 26 . (canceled)
27 . A medicament for oral and/or local application as bone cement or in bone remodeling and implantation or for bone replacement with an osteoneogenesis-active potential for local bone formation,
the medicament comprising an active ingredient, wherein the active ingredient is made by a process comprising: a) washing egg shells with purified water while stirring, said washing occurring at least at ambient temperature; b) autoclaving said washed egg shells for three hours or less, said autoclaving separating egg shell components of a central palisade zone of said egg shells from an inner and outer shell membrane of said egg shell, thereby yielding egg shell components free from the inner and outer shell membrane; and c) drying said autoclaved egg shell components free from the inner and outer shell membrane.
28 . The medicament of claim 27 , wherein the active ingredient is formulated in the form of putamen ovi pulvis, in extracted form, by aqueous and/or organic and/or supercritical solvents, especially carbon dioxide, as powder, granules, capsule, tablet, coated tablet, pastille (lozenge) or paste.
29 . A method for obtaining an active ingredient from the shell matrix of the palisade zone (MPM) of egg shells, comprising the steps of:
a) dissolving mineral-containing glycoproteins (MGP1) as gels by autoclave treatment; and b) isolating MGP1 from the exchanged aqueous phase by thermal, vacuum, and/or freeze drying.
30 . A method for obtaining an active ingredient from the shell matrix of the palisade zone (MPM) of egg shells, comprising the steps of:
a) dissolving mineral-containing glycoproteins (MGP2) as gels by means of aqueous and/or organic solvents or with supercritical fluids; and then b) isolating MGP2 by thermal, vacuum, and/or freeze drying.
31 . A method for obtaining an active ingredient from the shell matrix of the palisade zone (MPM) of egg shells, comprising the steps of:
a) alkaline treatment of egg shell components of the central palisade zone, freed from inner and outer shell membranes and from the shell matrix of the palisade zone (POM) with boiling 1-5% NaOH solution; b) filtering off the solution from the residual shell skeleton; c) neutralizing; and d) isolating MGP3 by vacuum and/or freeze drying.
32 . The medicament according to claim 27 for the therapy of leucocytopenia, granulocytopenia, lymphocytopenia, thrombocytopenia, erythrocytopenia, for therapy in immunoglobulin deficiency conditions, or for cellular immunostimulation,
the medicament comprising an active ingredient, the active ingredient being parts or all of the shell matrix of the palisade zone (MPM) of egg shells.
33 . The medicament according to claim 27 for the stimulation of the metabolic performance of osteoblast-specific transcription factors, of the differentiation of precursor cells to osteoblasts, or for the stimulation of the provision of bone-specific alkaline phosphatase or collagens, or of osteopontin and osteocalcin,
the medicament comprising an active ingredient, the active ingredient being parts or all of the shell matrix of the palisade zone (MPM) of egg shells.
34 . The medicament according to claim 27 for treatment of a disorder selected from the group consisting of bone marrow development disorders, bone marrow dysfunctions and dyshematopoiesis, osteopenia, dental build-up disorders, spasmophilia, bone fractions, callus formation, calcium deficiency symptoms during growth, calcium deficiency symptoms during pregnancy, calcium deficiency symptoms during postmenopause, and calcium deficiency symptoms during nursing period,
the medicament comprising an active ingredient, the active ingredient being parts or all of the shell matrix of the palisade zone (MPM) of egg shells.
35 . The medicament according to claim 27 , wherein the process further comprises:
(d) crushing said dried egg shells to a desired grain size.
36 . The medicament according to claim 35 , wherein said desired grain size is less than 0.1 mm.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
