Claims
Abstract
A rehabilitation exercise device includes a head support unit having a head cushion adapted to support the head of a user, and a frame holding the head cushion and having two opposite connection ends. Two side cushions are disposed respectively on two opposite sides of the head cushion, and are connected pivotally and respectively to the connection ends so that the side cushions are rotatable toward or away from the head cushion. A biasing unit is connected to the side cushions to bias the side cushions to rotate toward the head cushion.

a head support unit having a head cushion adapted to support the head of a user, and a frame holding said head cushion and having two opposite connection ends; two side cushions disposed respectively on two opposite sides of said head cushion and connected pivotally and respectively to said connection ends so that said side cushions are rotatable toward or away from said head cushion; and a biasing unit connected to said side cushions to bias said side cushions to rotate toward said head cushion.

The rehabilitation exercise device of claim 1 , further comprising two shafts which are mounted respectively to said connection ends, said side cushions being disposed rotatably and respectively around said shafts, said biasing unit including two torsion springs wound respectively around said shafts to urge said side cushions toward said head cushion.

The rehabilitation exercise device of claim 2 , wherein each of said torsion springs has an inner end engaging one of said shafts, and an outer end engaging one of said side cushions, said shafts being rotatable to adjust torsional forces of said torsion springs, said shafts being prevented from rotation to maintain the torsional forces of said torsion springs which have been adjusted.

The rehabilitation exercise device of claim 3 , wherein each of said shafts has an annular toothed element sleeved thereon, each of said connection ends of said frame having an annular toothed element to mesh with said annular toothed element of a respective said shaft so as to prevent rotation of the respective said shaft.

The rehabilitation exercise device of claim 1 , wherein said frame is substantially U-shaped, and has two side arms, and a bight portion between said side arms, said head cushion being disposed over said bight portion between said side arms, each of said connection ends having a pair of ear portions projecting outwardly and respectively from said two side arms at one side of said bight portion, each of said shafts extending through said pair of ear portions and one of said side cushions.

The rehabilitation exercise device of claim 5 , wherein each of said side cushions has two lug portions disposed between said ear portions at one of said connection ends, and a cutout disposed between said lug portions to receive therein one of said torsion springs, each of said shafts extending through said lug portions of a respective one of said side cushions.
7 . The rehabilitation exercise device of claim 1 , further comprising a limiter to limit rotation of said side cushions so that said side cushions do not extend over said head cushion.

The rehabilitation exercise device of claim 7 , wherein said limiter includes two limiting plates provided on said frame in proximity to said connection ends, respectively, each of said limiting plates having a stop member to abut against one of said side cushions which moves toward said head cushion.
9 . The rehabilitation exercise device of claim 1 , further comprising at least one fastening strap connected to said head support unit and adapted to position said rehabilitation exercise device to a support body.
10 . The rehabilitation exercise device of claim 1 , further comprising a head abutment strap, each of said side cushions having a proximal end connected pivotally to one of said connection ends, and a distal end opposite to said proximal end, said head abutment strap having two ends respectively connected to and bridging said distal ends of said side cushions.
11 . The rehabilitation exercise device of claim 10 , wherein said head abutment strap is elastic.
12 . The rehabilitation exercise device of claim 1 , further comprising two reel members disposed rotatably and respectively within said side cushions, and two pull ropes respectively wound around said reel members and each having a handling end extending outwardly of a respective said side cushion.
13 . The rehabilitation exercise device of claim 12 , further comprising two spindles inserted respectively into said reel members, and two torsion springs wound respectively around said spindles within said reel members.
14 . The rehabilitation exercise device of claim 13 , wherein each of said spindles has an annular toothed element sleeved thereon, each of said side cushions being provided with an annular toothed element to mesh with said annular toothed element of a respective said spindle so as to prevent rotation of the respective said spindle.
15 . The rehabilitation exercise device of claim 12 , further comprising a power-generating element disposed in one of said side cushions and connected to one of said reel members to transform rotational energy of said one of said reel members into electrical energy.
16 . A rehabilitation exercise device comprising:
a head support unit having a head cushion with a head support face adapted to support the head of a user; two side cushions disposed respectively on two opposite sides of said head cushion and connected pivotally to said head support unit so that said side cushions are rotatable toward or away from said head cushions; a biasing unit connected to said side cushions to bias said side cushions to rotate toward said head cushion; and a limiter to limit rotation of said side cushions so that said side cushions do not extend over said head support face.
17 . The rehabilitation exercise device of claim 16 , wherein said limiter includes two limiting plates provided on said head support unit in proximity to said side cushions, respectively, each of said limiting plates having a stop member to abut against one of said side cushions which moves toward said head cushion.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
