Adjustable bow cable tensioner.

Abstract

A bow tensioner that applies an adjustable pre-loaded tension to the bow cables when the bow string is drawn back. When the bow string is released the added tension to the bow cables creates more force to the bow string which increases the force and thrust of the arrow resulting greater speed, accuracy and range.

1 . A device that when fitted to a bow restrains the bow cables or strings in such a manner that additional force is realized when the bow draw string or cable is released causing that force to be transferred to the arrow as thrust causing the arrow to leave the bow at a higher speed than it would without the device. 
   
   
       2 . That this device differs from all other such other devices in that the amount of restraint applied to the bow strings or cables can be adjusted to achieve the maximum amount of additional thrust through the draw cycle. That this is an important and desirable feature as even bows of the same model and manufacture perform differently due to changes in settings and other customization by the end user of the bow. 
   
   
       3 . This device comprises:
 a. A body  1  that supports two grooved pulleys, wheels or rollers.  4     b. Two grooved pulleys, wheels or rollers.  4     c. A shaft  3  attached to the body on which the grooved pulleys, wheels or rollers are mounted.   d. A safety leg  13  to prevent the bow strings leaving the pulleys  4     A method of securing the device to the bow in such a manner that it is easily moved along a plane that moves it either closer or further from the riser to allow the restraint on the bow cables or strings to be adjusted to achieve the maximum possible thrust when the draw string of the bow is released.
