Offset weight bars
Abstract
An offset weight bar is provided which operates with the lifter's neuro-fascial connections to increase muscle activation and recruitment of muscle groups. The offset weight bar includes a grip portion that is shaped in accordance with the meuro-fascial connections in the lifter's hands and arms. The offset weight bar also offsets the weight of the bar from the lifter's palm to a point out along the lifter's unfolded fingers. The shape of the offset weight bar operates with the offset of the weight from the palm to increase the lifter's muscle activation and muscle group recruitment in accordance with the lifter's neuro-fascial physiology.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A weight bar including:
a grip section, wherein said grip section includes:
a thumb notch for receiving a user's thumb when lifting said weight bar; and
a finger area for receiving a user's fingers when lifting said weight bar.
2 . The weight bar of claim 1 wherein said grip section is not substantially cylindrical.
3 . The weight bar of claim 1 wherein said finger area has a different radius of curvature from said thumb notch.
4 . The weight bar of claim 1 wherein said grip section further includes a palm area.
5 . The weight bar of claim 4 wherein said palm area has a radius of curvature different from said finger area.
6 . The weight bar of claim 1 wherein said grip section is hollow.
7 . The weight bar of claim 1 wherein said grip section includes at least one screw position for receiving a screw.
8 . The weight bar of claim 7 wherein an end plate is attached to said grip section by engaging a screw through said end plate and with said at least one screw position.
9 . The weight bar of claim 6 wherein a threaded rod is passed through said hollow grip section.
10 . The weight bar of claim 9 , wherein a weight sleeve is attached to said threaded rod using a nut.
11 . The weight bar of claim 1 , wherein said grip section is sized for inclusion in a dumbbell.
12 . The weight bar of claim 1 wherein said grip section is sized for inclusion on a standard Olympic barbell.
13 . The weight bar of claim 12 wherein the length of said grip section is curtailed to allow a portion of the weight bar to be the diameter of a standard Olympic barbell to allow the weight bar to engage with a weight bench.
14 . A method of lifting weights, said method including:
grasping a weight bar wherein said weight bar includes a grip portion having a thumb notch; and performing a weight lifting activity by moving said bar.
15 . The method of claim 14 wherein said weight bar includes a finger area having a radius of curvature
16 . The method of claim 15 wherein said thumb notch includes a radius of curvature and the radius of curvature of said thumb notch is different from the radius of curvature of said finger area.
17 . A weight bar including:
a grip section, wherein said grip section is not cylindrical.
18 . The weight bar of claim 17 , wherein said grip section is sized for inclusion in a dumbbell.
19 . The weight bar of claim 17 wherein said grip section is sized for inclusion on a standard Olympic barbell.
20 . The weight bar of claim 19 wherein the length of said grip section is curtailed to allow a portion of the weight bar to be the diameter of a standard Olympic barbell to allow the weight bar to engage with a weight bench.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
