Abstract

A portable, collapsible and reconfigurable hanger for hanging and drying sports equipment which comprises a primary frame member, a plurality of secondary frame members, each of the secondary frame members being adapted for releasable placement on the primary frame member in a substantially perpendicular orientation to the primary frame member; a plurality of sports equipment attachment means positioned on at least one of the secondary frame members for releasable engagement with an article of sports equipment, and releasable attachment means mounted on one end of the primary frame member for hanging the hanger in a generally vertical orientation when in use.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A sports equipment hanger comprising:
a primary frame member having an elongate body with opposed ends; a plurality of secondary frame members, each of said secondary frame members having an elongate body and opposed ends, wherein each of said secondary frame members is adapted for releasable placement on said primary frame member in a substantially perpendicular orientation to the primary frame member; a plurality of sports equipment attachment means positioned on at least one of said secondary frame members for releasable engagement with an article of said sports equipment, and releasable attachment means mounted on one of said opposed ends of said primary frame member for hanging said hanger in a generally vertical orientation when in use.

2 . The sports equipment hanger according to claim 1 , wherein the releasable attachment means is mounted on the primary frame member to permit the hanger to be hung vertically from a substrate, the releasable attachment means selected from the group consisting of a hook, a loop and a clip.

3 . The sports equipment hanger according to claim 1 , wherein fastener means are operatively associated with the primary and secondary frame members for releasable placement of said secondary frame members on said primary frame member.

4 . The sports equipment hanger of claim 1 , wherein the primary and secondary frame members have a uniform cross section and are of a rigid material, wherein the shape of the cross section is selected from the group consisting of square, tubular, rectangular, circular, polygonal and triangular and said rigid material is selected from the group consisting of metals, plastics, pvc, carbon fibre, fibre glass and combinations thereof.

5 . The sports equipment hanger of claim 4 , wherein said rigid material is metal and said metal is provided with a surface treatment to prevent oxidation.

6 . The sports equipment hanger of claim 1 , wherein said secondary frame members include a cut out portion adapted for positive locking engagement with said primary frame member.

7 . The sports equipment hanger of claim 1 , wherein said plurality of sports equipment attachment means is selected from the group consisting of clips, spring activated clamps, hook and loop fasteners and combinations thereof.

8 . The sports equipment hanger of claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of secondary frame members is in a spaced orientation on said primary frame member.

9 . The sports equipment hanger of claim 1 , wherein said sports equipment includes articles or apparel for sports selected from the group consisting of ice hockey, roller hockey, North American football, lacrosse, ringette, baseball and other sporting activities.

10 . The sports equipment hanger according to claim 1 , further including end cap means on the opposed ends of said secondary members and said primary member includes end cap means at the end opposite the releasable attachment means, said end cap means adapted to receive further sports equipment attachment means adapted for releasable engagement of an article.

11 . A hanger for sports equipment comprising:
a frame, said frame having a vertical support member and a plurality of transversely extending mounting members spaced apart from each other along said vertical support member, said plurality of mounting members being secured to the vertical support member; said hanger having mounting means adapted to mount the hanger to a substrate and at least one of said transversely extending mounting members having releasable fastening members associated therewith adapted to releasably mount an article engaged therewith.

12 . The hanger according to claim 11 , wherein the mounting means is mounted on the vertical support member to permit the hanger to be hung vertically from the substrate, the mounting means selected from the group consisting of a hook, a loop and a clip.

13 . The hanger according to claim 11 , wherein fastener means are operatively associated with said frame for releasable placement of said transversely extending mounting members on said vertical support member.

14 . The hanger of claim 11 , wherein the vertical support member and the transversely extending mounting members have a uniform cross section and the frame is of a rigid material, wherein the shape of the cross section is selected from the group consisting of square, tubular, rectangular, circular, polygonal and triangular and said rigid material is selected from the group consisting of metals, plastics, pvc, carbon fibre, fibre glass and combinations thereof.

15 . The hanger of claim 14 , wherein said rigid material is metal and said metal is provided with a surface treatment to prevent oxidation.

16 . The hanger of claim 11 , wherein said transversely extending mounting members include a cut out portion adapted for positive locking engagement with said vertical support member.

17 . The hanger of claims 11 , wherein said releasable fastening members are selected from the group consisting of clips, spring activated clamps, hook and loop fasteners and combinations thereof.

18 . The hanger of claim 11 , wherein each of the plurality of transversely extending mounting members is in a spaced orientation on said vertical support member.

19 . The hanger of claim 11 , wherein said sports equipment includes articles or apparel from sports selected from the group consisting of ice hockey, roller hockey, North American football, lacrosse, ringette, baseball and other sporting activities.
