Abstract
In one embodiment of the invention, a card and dice game allows a player to bet on the outcome of a comparison of a numerical value determined by a roll of dice and another numerical value determined by a card drawn from a deck. The player wagers that the card value either will be higher or lower than the dice value. An optional secondary or “bonus” wager can be made after the dice are rolled, but before the card is drawn. The payout on the bonus wager has the potential of being a high multiple of the bonus bet amount, depending upon the dice value and the resulting probability that the upcoming card value will be greater or lower than the dice value.

establishing a first wager based upon a first prediction of one of a first game outcome and a second game outcome, wherein the first game outcome is a future card point value being less than a future die value, and wherein the second game outcome is the future card point value being greater than the future die value; rolling at least one die thereby generating a present die value; dealing a card thereby displaying a present card point value; paying the first wager if the present card point value is less than the present die value and if the first prediction is the first game outcome; and paying the first wager if the present card point value is greater than the present die value and if the first prediction is the second game outcome.
2 . The method of claim 1 wherein the present die value is a value between 2 and 12, inclusive.
3 . The method of claim 2 wherein rolling the at least one die comprises rolling two dice each having six faces numbered one to six.
4 . The method of claim 1 wherein dealing the card includes dealing the card from at least one deck of a plurality of cards, and wherein each one of the plurality of cards has a point value between 1 and 13, inclusive.
5 . The method of claim 4 wherein the at least one deck of a plurality of cards comprises at least one standard deck of 52 playing cards.
6 . The method of claim 1 further comprising taking the first wager if the present card value is equal to the present die value.
7 . The method of claim 1 further comprising returning the first wager if the present card value is equal to the present die value,
wherein paying the first wager if the present card point value is less than the present die value and if the first prediction is the first game outcome, includes paying the first wager minus a commission, and wherein paying the first wager if the present card point value is greater than the present die value and if the first prediction is the second game outcome, includes paying the first wager minus the commission.
8 . The method of claim 7 wherein dealing the card includes dealing the card from at least one standard deck of 52 playing cards wherein each one of the plurality of cards has a point value between 1 and 13, inclusive, and wherein rolling the at least one die comprises rolling two dice each having six faces numbered one to six.
9 . The method of claim 7 wherein paying the first wager minus the commission includes paying the first wager at a payout odds of 1:1 minus the commission.
10 . The method of claim 1 wherein the present die value is a value between 2 and 12, inclusive, wherein dealing the card includes dealing the card from at least one deck of a plurality of cards, wherein each one of the plurality of cards has a point value between 1 and 13, inclusive,
wherein paying the first wager if the present card point value is less than the present die value and if the first prediction is the first game outcome, includes paying the first wager at a first-level odds if the present card point value is other than a value of 1, and wherein paying the first wager if the present card point value is greater than the present die value and if the first prediction is the second game outcome, includes paying the first wager at the first-level odds if the present card point value is other than a value of 13,
the method further comprising:
paying the first wager at a second-level odds if the present card point value is equal to 1 and if the first prediction is the first game outcome; and
paying first wager at the second-level odds if the present card point value is equal to 13 and if the first prediction is the second game outcome,
wherein the second-level odds is greater than the first-level odds.
11 . The method of claim 10 wherein the first-level odds is 1:1 and wherein the second-level odds is 3:2.
12 . The method of claim 10 further comprising taking the first wager if the present card value is equal to the present die value.
13 . The method of claim 10 wherein the at least one deck of a plurality of cards comprises at least one standard deck of 52 playing cards, and wherein rolling the at least one die comprises rolling two dice each having six faces numbered one to six.
14 . The method of claim 1 further comprising:
providing an option to establish a second wager, wherein the providing of the option occurs after the rolling of the at least one die and prior to the dealing of the card; paying the second wager if the option was exercised and if the present card point value is less than the present die value and if the first prediction is the first game outcome, wherein the second wager is paid out in accordance with a predetermined pay scale having a plurality of payout odds that vary as a function of the present die value; and paying the second wager if the option was exercised and if the present card point value is greater than the present die value and if the first prediction is the second game outcome, wherein the second wager is paid out in accordance with the predetermined pay scale.
15 . The method of claim 14 further comprising:
taking the first wager if the present card value is equal to the present die value; and returning the second wager if the option was exercised and if the present card value is equal to the present die value.
16 . The method of claim 14 wherein the present die value is a value between 2 and 12, inclusive, and wherein dealing the card includes dealing the card from at least one deck of a plurality of cards, and wherein each one of the plurality of cards has a point value between 1 and 13, inclusive.
17 . The method of claim 16 wherein rolling the at least one die comprises rolling two dice each having six faces numbered one to six, and wherein the at least one deck of a plurality of cards comprises at least one standard deck of 52 playing cards.
18 . The method of claim 14 further comprising:
returning the first wager if the present card value is equal to the present die value, and returning the second wager if the present card value is equal to the present die value and if the option was exercised, wherein paying the first wager if the present card point value is less than the present die value and if the first prediction is the first game outcome, includes paying the first wager minus a commission, and wherein paying the first wager if the present card point value is greater than the present die value and if the first prediction is the second game outcome, includes paying the first wager minus the commission.
19 . The method of claim 18 wherein paying the first wager minus the commission includes paying the first wager at a payout odds of 1:1 minus the commission.
20 . The method of claim 18 wherein dealing the card includes dealing the card from at least one standard deck of 52 playing cards wherein each one of the plurality of cards has a point value between 1 and 13, inclusive, and wherein rolling the at least one die comprises rolling two dice each having six faces numbered one to six.
21 . The method of claim 14 wherein the present die value is a value between 2 and 12, inclusive, wherein dealing the card includes dealing the card from at least one deck of a plurality of cards, wherein each one of the plurality of cards has a point value between 1 and 13, inclusive,
wherein the paying of the first wager if the present card point value is less than the present die value and if the first prediction is the first game outcome, includes paying the first wager at a first-level odds if the present card point value is other than a value of 1, and wherein the paying of the first wager if the present card point value is greater than the present die value and if the first prediction is the second game outcome, includes paying the first wager at the first-level odds if the present card point value is other than a value of 13,
the method further comprising:
paying the first wager at a second-level odds if the present card point value is equal to 1 and if the first prediction is the first game outcome; and
paying the first wager at the second-level odds if the present card point value is equal to 13 and if the first prediction is the second game outcome,
wherein the second-level odds is greater than the first-level odds.
22 . The method of claim 21 wherein the at least one deck of the plurality of cards comprises at least one standard deck of 52 playing cards, and wherein rolling the at least one die comprises rolling two dice each having six faces numbered one to six.
23 . The method of claim 21 wherein the first-level odds is 1:1 and wherein the second-level odds is 3:2.
24 . The method of claim 21 further comprising:
returning the second wager if the present card value is equal to the present die value and if the option was exercised; and taking the first wager if the present card value is equal to the present die value.
25 . A method of playing a wagering game, comprising:
establishing a first wager based upon a first prediction of one of a first game outcome and a second game outcome, wherein the first game outcome is a future card point value being less than a future die value, and wherein the second game outcome is the future card point value being greater than the future die value; rolling at least one die thereby generating a present die value; providing an option to establish a second wager based upon a second prediction of one of the first game outcome and the second game outcome; dealing a card thereby displaying a present card point value; paying the first wager if the present card point value is less than the present die value and if the first prediction is the first game outcome and if the option was not exercised; paying the first wager and the second wager if the option was exercised and if the present card point value is less than the present die value and if the first prediction is the first game outcome and if the second prediction is the first outcome, wherein the second wager is paid out in accordance with a predetermined pay scale having a plurality of payout odds that vary as a function of the present die value; paying the first wager and taking the second wager if the option was exercised and if the present card point value is less than the present die value and if the first prediction is the first game outcome and if the second prediction is the second game outcome; paying the second wager and taking the first wager if the option was exercised and if the present card point value is less than the present die value and if the first prediction is the second game outcome and if the second prediction is the first game outcome, wherein the second wager is paid out in accordance with the predetermined pay scale; paying the first wager if the present card point value is greater than the present die value and if the first prediction is the second game outcome and if the option was not exercised; paying the first wager and the second wager if the option was exercised and if the present card point value is greater than the present die value and if the first prediction is the second game outcome and if the second prediction is the second game outcome, wherein the second wager is paid out in accordance with the predetermined pay scale; paying the first wager and taking the second wager if the option was exercised and if the present card point value is greater than the present die value and if the first prediction is the second game outcome and if the second prediction is the first game outcome; and paying the second wager and taking the first wager if the option was exercised and if the present card point value is greater than the present die value and if the first prediction is the first game outcome and if the second prediction is the second game outcome, wherein the second wager is paid out in accordance with the predetermined pay scale.
26 . The method of claim 25 further comprising taking the first wager and returning the second wager if the option was exercised and if the present card point value is equal to the present die value.
27 . The method of claim 25 further comprising taking the first wager if the option was not exercised and if the present card point value is equal to the present die value.
28 . The method of claim 25 wherein the present die value is a value between 2 and 12, inclusive.
29 . The method of claim 28 wherein the rolling of the at least one die comprises rolling two dice each having six faces numbered one to six.
30 . The method of claim 25 wherein dealing the card includes dealing the card from at least one deck of a plurality of cards, and wherein each one of the plurality of cards has a point value between 1 and 13, inclusive.
31 . The method of claim 30 wherein the at least one deck of the plurality of cards comprises at least one standard deck of 52 playing cards.
32 . A method of playing a wagering game, comprising:
establishing a first wager based upon a first prediction of one of a first game outcome and a second game outcome, wherein the first game outcome is a future card point value being less than a future die value, and wherein the second game outcome is the future card point value being greater than the future die value, dealing a card from at least one deck thereby displaying a present card point value, wherein the at least one deck includes a plurality of cards, and wherein each one of the plurality of cards has a point value between 1 and 13, inclusive; paying the first wager if the present card point value is equal to 1 and if the first prediction is the first game outcome; paying the first wager if the present card point value is equal to 13 and if the first prediction is the second game outcome; taking the first wager if the present card point value is equal to one of 12 and 13 if the first prediction is the first game outcome; taking the first wager if the present card point value is equal to one of 1 and 2 if the first prediction is the second game outcome; providing an option to establish a second wager if the present card point value is other than any one value of 1, 12 and 13, and if the first prediction is the first game outcome, wherein the providing of the option occurs after the dealing of the card; providing the option to establish the second wager if the present card point value is other than any one value of 1, 2 and 13, and if the first prediction is the second game outcome, wherein the providing of the option occurs after the dealing of the card; rolling at least one die if the present card point value is other than any one value of 1, 12 and 13, and if the first prediction is the first game outcome, wherein the rolling of the at least one die generates a present die value between 2 and 12, inclusive; rolling the at least one die if the present card point value is other than any one value of 1, 2 and 13, and if the first prediction is the second game outcome, wherein the rolling of the at least one die generates a present die value between 2 and 12, inclusive; paying the first wager after the rolling of the at least one die if the present card point value is less than the present die value and is other than a value of 1 and if the first prediction is the first game outcome; paying the first wager after the rolling of the at least one die if the present card point value is greater than the present die value and is other than a value of 13 and if the first prediction is the second game outcome; paying the second wager if the option was exercised and if the present card point value is less than the present die value and if the first prediction is the first game outcome, wherein the second wager is paid out in accordance with a predetermined pay scale having a plurality of payout odds that vary as a function of the present card point value; and paying the second wager if the option was exercised and if the present card point value is greater than the present die value and if the first prediction is the second game outcome, wherein the second wager is paid out in accordance with the predetermined pay scale.
33 . The method of claim 32 wherein the at least one deck comprises at least one standard deck of 52 playing cards, and wherein rolling the at least one die comprises rolling two dice each having six faces numbered one to six.
34 . The method of claim 32 further comprising:
returning the second wager if the present card point value is equal to the present die value and if the option was exercised; and taking the first wager if the present card point value is equal to the present die value.
35 . The method of claim 32 wherein paying the first wager if the present card point value is equal to 1 and if the first prediction is the first game outcome includes paying the first wager at a second-level odds;
wherein paying the first wager if the present card point value is equal to 13 and if the first prediction is the second game outcome includes paying the first wager at the second-level odds; wherein paying the first wager after the rolling of the at least one die if the present card point value is less than the present die value and is other than a value of 1 and if the first prediction is the first game outcome, includes paying the first wager at a first-level odds; and wherein paying the first wager after the rolling of the at least one die if the present card point value is greater than the present die value and is other than a value of 13 and if the first prediction is the second game outcome, includes paying the first wager at the first-level odds, wherein the second-level odds is greater than the first-level odds.
36 . The method of claim 35 wherein the first-level odds is 1:1 and wherein the second-level odds is 3:2.
37 . A method of playing a wagering game, comprising:
establishing a first wager based upon a first prediction of one of a first game outcome and a second game outcome, wherein the first game outcome is a future third card point value being less than a future combined card point value, and wherein the second game outcome is the future third card point value being greater than the future combined card point value; dealing a first card from a first deck thereby displaying a first card point value between 1 and 6, inclusive; dealing a second card from a second deck thereby displaying a second card point value between 1 and 6, inclusive, wherein the sum of the first card point value and the second card point value is a present combined card point value; dealing a third card from a third deck thereby displaying a present third card point value between 1 and 13, inclusive; paying the first wager if the present third card point value is less than the present combined card point value and if the first prediction is the first game outcome; and paying the first wager if the present third card point value is greater than the present combined card point value and if the first prediction is the second game outcome.
38 . The method of claim 37 , wherein the first deck and the second deck each comprises at least one each of an Ace card, a Two card, a Three card, a Four card, a Five card, and a Six card, and wherein the first deck and the second deck include no cards other than the at least one Ace card, the at least one Two card, the at least one Three card, the at least one Four card, the at least one Five card, and the at least one Six card.
39 . The method of claim 37 wherein the third deck comprises at least one standard deck of 52 playing cards.
40 . The method of claim 37 further comprising taking the first wager if the present third card point value is equal to the present combined card point value.
41 . The method of claim 37 further comprising returning the first wager if the present third card point value is equal to the present combined card point value,
wherein paying the first wager if the present third card point value is less than the present combined card point value and if the first prediction is the first game outcome, includes paying the first wager minus a commission, and wherein paying the first wager if the present third card point value is greater than the present combined card point value and if the first prediction is the second game outcome, includes paying the first wager minus the commission.

The method of claim 41 , wherein the first deck and the second deck each comprises at least one each of an Ace card, a Two card, a Three card, a Four card, a Five card, and a Six card, and wherein the first deck and the second deck include no cards other than the at least one Ace card, the at least one Two card, the at least one Three card, the at least one Four card, the at least one Five card, and the at least one Six card.
43 . The method of claim 41 wherein the third deck comprises at least one standard deck of 52 playing cards.
44 . The method of claim 41 wherein paying the first wager minus the commission includes paying the first wager at a payout odds of 1:1 minus the commission.

The method of claim 37 wherein paying the first wager if the present third card point value is less than the present combined card point value and if the first prediction is the first game outcome, includes paying the first wager at a first-level odds if the present third card point value is other than a value of 1, and
wherein paying the first wager if the present third card point value is greater than the present combined card point value and if the first prediction is the second game outcome, includes paying the first wager at the first-level odds if the present third card point value is other than a value of 13,
the method further comprising:
paying the first wager at a second-level odds if the present third card point value is equal to 1 and if the first prediction is the first game outcome; and
paying first wager at the second-level odds if the present third card point value is equal to 13 and if the first prediction is the second game outcome,
wherein the second-level odds is greater than the first-level odds.
46 . The method of claim 45 wherein the first-level odds is 1:1 and wherein the second-level odds is 3:2.
47 . The method of claim 45 further comprising taking the first wager if the present third card point value is equal to the present combined card point value.

The method of claim 45 , wherein the first deck and the second deck each comprises at least one each of an Ace card, a Two card, a Three card, a Four card, a Five card, and a Six card, and wherein the first deck and the second deck include no cards other than the at least one Ace card, the at least one Two card, the at least one Three card, the at least one Four card, the at least one Five card, and the at least one Six card.
49 . The method of claim 45 wherein the third deck comprises at least one standard deck of 52 playing cards.
50 . The method of claim 37 further comprising:
providing an option to establish a second wager, wherein the providing of the option occurs after dealing the first card and the second card and prior to dealing the third card; paying the second wager if the option was exercised and if the present third card point value is less than the present combined card point value and if the first prediction is the first game outcome, wherein the second wager is paid out in accordance with a predetermined pay scale having a plurality of payout odds that vary as a function of the present combined card point value; and paying the second wager if the option was exercised and if the present third card point value is greater than the present combined card point value and if the first prediction is the second game outcome, wherein the second wager is paid out in accordance with the predetermined pay scale.
51 . The method of claim 50 further comprising:
taking the first wager if the present third card point value is equal to the present combined card point value; and returning the second wager if the option was exercised and if the present third card point value is equal to the present combined card point value.

The method of claim 50 , wherein the first deck and the second deck each comprises at least one each of an Ace card, a Two card, a Three card, a Four card, a Five card, and a Six card, and wherein the first deck and the second deck include no cards other than the at least one Ace card, the at least one Two card, the at least one Three card, the at least one Four card, the at least one Five card, and the at least one Six card.
53 . The method of claim 50 wherein the third deck comprises at least one standard deck of 52 playing cards.
54 . The method of claim 50 further comprising:
returning the first wager if the present third card point value is equal to the present combined card point value, and returning the second wager if the present third card point value is equal to the present combined card point value and if the option was exercised, wherein paying the first wager if the present third card point value is less than the present combined card point value and if the first prediction is the first game outcome, includes paying the first wager minus a commission, wherein paying the first wager if the present third card point value is greater than the present combined card point value and if the first prediction is the second game outcome, includes paying the first wager minus the commission.
55 . The method of claim 54 wherein paying the first wager minus the commission includes paying the first wager at a payout odds of 1:1 minus the commission.

The method of claim 54 , wherein the first deck and the second deck each comprises at least one each of an Ace card, a Two card, a Three card, a Four card, a Five card, and a Six card, and wherein the first deck and the second deck include no cards other than the at least one Ace card, the at least one Two card, the at least one Three card, the at least one Four card, the at least one Five card, and the at least one Six card.
57 . The method of claim 54 wherein the third deck comprises at least one standard deck of 52 playing cards.

The method of claim 50 wherein paying the first wager if the present third card point value is less than the present combined card point value and if the first prediction is the first game outcome, includes paying the first wager at a first-level odds if the present third card point value is other than a value of 1, and
wherein paying the first wager if the present third card point value is greater than the present combined card point value and if the first prediction is the second game outcome, includes paying the first wager at the first-level odds if the present third card point value is other than a value of 13,
the method further comprising:
paying the first wager at a second-level odds if the present third card point value is equal to 1 and if the first prediction is the first game outcome; and
paying the first wager at the second-level odds if the present third card point value is equal to 13 and if the first prediction is the second game outcome,
wherein the second-level odds is greater than the first-level odds.

The method of claim 58 , wherein the first deck and the second deck each comprises at least one each of an Ace card, a Two card, a Three card, a Four card, a Five card, and a Six card, and wherein the first deck and the second deck include no cards other than the at least one Ace card, the at least one Two card, the at least one Three card, the at least one Four card, the at least one Five card, and the at least one Six card.
60 . The method of claim 58 wherein the third deck comprises at least one standard deck of 52 playing cards.
61 . The method of claim 58 wherein the first-level odds is 1:1 and wherein the second-level odds is 3:2.
62 . The method of claim 58 further comprising:
returning the second wager if the present third card point value is equal to the present combined card point value and if the option was exercised; and taking the first wager if the present third card point value is equal to the present combined card point value.

An article of manufacture for use in playing a wagering game and for use by a device having a processing unit, said article of manufacture comprising at least one computer usable media including at least one computer program embedded therein for use by the device, the at least one computer program being adapted to cause the device to perform:
establishing a first wager based upon a first prediction of one of a first game outcome and a second game outcome, wherein the first game outcome is a future card point value being less than a future die value, and wherein the second game outcome is the future card point value being greater than the future die value; displaying at least one die showing a present die value; displaying a card showing a present card point value; paying the first wager if the present card point value is less than the present die value and if the first prediction is the first game outcome; and paying the first wager if the present card point value is greater than the present die value and if the first prediction is the second game outcome.
64 . The article of manufacture of claim 63 wherein the at least one computer program is further adapted to cause the device to perform:
providing an option to establish a second wager, wherein the providing of the option occurs after the displaying of the at least one die and prior to the displaying of the card; paying the second wager if the option was exercised and if the present card point value is less than the present die value and if the first prediction is the first game outcome, wherein the second wager is paid out in accordance with a predetermined pay scale having a plurality of payout odds that vary as a function of the present die value; and paying the second wager if the option was exercised and if the present card point value is greater than the present die value and if the first prediction is the second game outcome, wherein the second wager is paid out in accordance with the predetermined pay scale.

An article of manufacture for use in playing a wagering game and for use by a device having a processing unit, said article of manufacture comprising at least one computer usable media including at least one computer program embedded therein for use by the device, the at least one computer program being adapted to cause the device to perform:

establishing a first wager based upon a first prediction of one of a first game outcome and a second game outcome, wherein the first game outcome is a future card point value being less than a future die value, and wherein the second game outcome is the future card point value being greater than the future die value; displaying at least one die showing a present die value between 2 and 12, inclusive; providing an option to establish a second wager based upon the first prediction, wherein the providing of the option occurs after the displaying of the at least one die; displaying a card showing a present card point value between 1 and 13, inclusive, wherein the displaying of the card occurs after the providing of the option; paying the first wager at a first-level odds if the present card point value is less than the present die value and if the first prediction is the first game outcome and if the present card point value is other than a value of 1; paying the first wager at a second-level odds if the present card point value is equal to 1 and if the first prediction is the first game outcome; paying the second wager if the option was exercised and if the present card point value is less than the present die value and if the first prediction is the first game outcome, wherein the second wager is paid out in accordance with a predetermined pay scale having a plurality of payout odds that vary as a function of the present die value; paying the first wager at the first-level odds if the present card point value is other than a value of 13 and if the present card point value is greater than the present die value and if the first prediction is the second game outcome; paying first wager at the second-level odds if the present card point value is equal to 13 and if the first prediction is the second game outcome; and paying the second wager if the option was exercised and if the present card point value is greater than the present die value and if the first prediction is the second game outcome, wherein the second wager is paid out in accordance with the predetermined pay scale, wherein the second-level odds is greater than the first-level odds.
67 . A system for use in playing a wagering game, comprising:
a device having a processing unit capable of executing at least one software routine; and programming logic executed by the processing unit comprising:
means for establishing a first wager based upon a first prediction of one of a first game outcome and a second game outcome, wherein the first game outcome is a future card point value being less than a future die value, and wherein the second game outcome is the future card point value being greater than the future die value;
means for displaying at least one die showing a present die value;
means for displaying a card showing a present card point value;
means for paying the first wager if the present card point value is less than the present die value and if the first prediction is the first game outcome; and
means for paying the first wager if the present card point value is greater than the present die value and if the first prediction is the second game outcome.
68 . The system of claim 67 wherein the programming logic further comprises:
means for providing an option to establish a second wager, wherein the providing of the option occurs after the displaying of the at least one die and prior to the displaying of the card; means for paying the second wager if the option was exercised and if the present card point value is less than the present die value and if the first prediction is the first game outcome, wherein the second wager is paid out in accordance with a predetermined pay scale having a plurality of payout odds that vary as a function of the present die value; and means for paying the second wager if the option was exercised and if the present card point value is greater than the present die value and if the first prediction is the second game outcome, wherein the second wager is paid out in accordance with the predetermined pay scale.
69 . A system for use in playing a wagering game, comprising:
a device having a processing unit capable of executing at least one software routine; and programming logic executed by the processing unit comprising:
means for establishing a first wager based upon a first prediction of one of a first game outcome and a second game outcome, wherein the first game outcome is a future card point value being less than a future die value, and wherein the second game outcome is the future card point value being greater than the future die value,
means for displaying a card showing a present card point value between 1 and 13, inclusive;
means for paying the first wager if the present card point value is equal to 1 and if the first prediction is the first game outcome;
means for paying the first wager if the present card point value is equal to 13 and if the first prediction is the second game outcome;
means for taking the first wager if the present card point value is equal to one of 12 and 13 if the first prediction is the first game outcome;
means for taking the first wager if the present card point value is equal to one of 1 and 2 if the first prediction is the second game outcome;
means for providing an option to establish a second wager if the present card point value is other than any one value of 1, 12 and 13, and if the first prediction is the first game outcome, wherein the providing of the option occurs after the displaying of the card;
means for providing the option to establish the second wager if the present card point value is other than any one value of 1, 2 and 13, and if the first prediction is the second game outcome, wherein the providing of the option occurs after the displaying of the card;
means for displaying at least one die showing a present die value if the present card point value is other than any one value of 1, 12 and 13, and if the first prediction is the first game outcome, wherein the present die value is between 2 and 12, inclusive;
means for displaying the at least one die showing the present die value if the present card point value is other than any one value of 1, 2 and 13, and if the first prediction is the second game outcome, wherein the present die value is between 2 and 12, inclusive;
means for paying the first wager after the displaying of the at least one die if the present card point value is less than the present die value and is other than a value of 1 and if the first prediction is the first game outcome;
means for paying the first wager after the displaying of the at least one die if the present card point value is greater than the present die value and is other than a value of 13 and if the first prediction is the second game outcome;
means for paying the second wager if the option was exercised and if the present card point value is less than the present die value and if the first prediction is the first game outcome, wherein the second wager is paid out in accordance with a predetermined pay scale having a plurality of payout odds that vary as a function of the present card point value; and
means for paying the second wager if the option was exercised and if the present card point value is greater than the present die value and if the first prediction is the second game outcome, wherein the second wager is paid out in accordance with the predetermined pay scale.
70 . A system for use in playing a wagering game, comprising:
a device having a processing unit capable of executing at least one software routine; and programming logic executed by the processing unit comprising:
means for establishing a first wager based upon a first prediction of one of a first game outcome and a second game outcome, wherein the first game outcome is a future card point value being less than a future die value, and wherein the second game outcome is the future card point value being greater than the future die value;
means for displaying at least one die showing a present die value between 2 and 12, inclusive;
means for providing an option to establish a second wager, wherein the providing of the option occurs after the displaying of the at least one die;
means for displaying a card showing a present card point value between 1 and 13, inclusive, wherein the displaying of the card occurs after the providing of the option;
means for paying the first wager at a first-level odds if the present card point value is less than the present die value and if the first prediction is the first game outcome and if the present card point value is other than a value of 1;
means for paying the first wager at a second-level odds if the present card point value is equal to 1 and if the first prediction is the first game outcome;
means for paying the second wager if the option was exercised and if the present card point value is less than the present die value and if the first prediction is the first game outcome, wherein the second wager is paid out in accordance with a predetermined pay scale having a plurality of payout odds that vary as a function of the present die value;
means for paying the first wager at the first-level odds if the present card point value is other than a value of 13 and if the present card point value is greater than the present die value and if the first prediction is the second game outcome;
means for paying first wager at the second-level odds if the present card point value is equal to 13 and if the first prediction is the second game outcome; and
means for paying the second wager if the option was exercised and if the present card point value is greater than the present die value and if the first prediction is the second game outcome, wherein the second wager is paid out in accordance with the predetermined pay scale,
