Abstract

A pharmaceutically acceptable salt of N-[2-(Diethylamino)ethyl]-N-(2-{[2-(4-hydroxy-2-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1,3-benzothiazol-7-yl)ethyl]amino}ethyl)-3-[2-(1-naphthyl)ethoxy]propan amide provided it is not the dihydrobromide or dihydrochloride salt; and the use of such a compound as a medicament (for example in the treatment of respiratory diseases (such as asthma or COPD).

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A pharmaceutically acceptable salt of N-[2-(Diethylamino)ethyl]-N-(2-{[2-(4-hydroxy-2-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1,3-benzothiazol-7-yl)ethyl]amino}ethyl)-3-[2-(1-naphthyl)ethoxy]propanamide provided it is not the dihydrobromide or dihydrochloride salt.

2 . A pharmaceutically acceptable salt as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the salt is a trifluoroacetate, sulphate, phosphate, acetate, fumarate, maleate, citrate, pyruvate, succinate, oxalate, methanesulphonate, p-toluenesulphonate, bisulphate, benzenesulphonate, ethanesulphonate, malonate, xinafoate, ascorbate, oleate, nicotinate, saccharinate, adipate, formate, glycolate, L-lactate, D-lactate, aspartate, malate, L-tartrate, D-tartrate, stearate, 2-furoate, 3-furoate, napadisylate, edisylate, isethionate, 2-mesitylenesulphonate, 2-naphthalenesulphonate, D-mandelate, or L-mandelate.

3 . A pharmaceutically acceptable salt as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the salt is a citrate salt.

4 . A processes for preparing a salt as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the process comprises reacting an acid with N-[2-(Diethylamino)ethyl]-N-(2-{[2-(4-hydroxy-2-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1,3-benzothiazol-7-yl)ethyl]amino}ethyl)-3-[2-(1-naphthyl)ethoxy]propanamide in a solvent.

5 . A pharmaceutical composition, wherein the composition comprises:
a pharmaceutically acceptable salt as claimed in claim 1 ; and a pharmaceutically acceptable adjuvant, diluent, or carrier.

       6 - 10 . (canceled)

11 . A method of treating, or reducing the risk of, a disease or condition in which modulation of β2 adrenoreceptor activity is beneficial, wherein the method comprises administering to a patient in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of a pharmaceutically acceptable salt as claimed in claim 1 .

12 . A method of treating, or reducing the risk of, an inflammatory disease or condition, wherein the method comprises administering to a patient in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of a pharmaceutically acceptable salt as claimed in claim 1 .

13 . A method of treating, or reducing the risk of, a disease or condition in a patient, wherein:
the disease or condition is adult respiratory distress syndrome, pulmonary emphysema, bronchitis, bronchiectasis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, or rhinitis; and the method comprises administering to the patient a therapeutically effective amount of a pharmaceutically acceptable salt as claimed in claim 1 .

14 . A pharmaceutically acceptable salt as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the salt is a ditosylate salt.

15 . A pharmaceutically acceptable salt as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the salt is a phosphate salt.

16 . A pharmaceutically acceptable salt as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the salt is a dixinafoate salt.

17 . A pharmaceutically acceptable salt as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the salt is a sulfate salt.

18 . A pharmaceutically acceptable salt as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the salt is a mono-benzoate salt.

19 . A pharmaceutically acceptable salt as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the salt is a fumarate salt.

20 . A pharmaceutically acceptable salt as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the salt is a besylate salt.

21 . A method as claimed in claim 13 , wherein the salt is a citrate salt.

22 . A method as claimed in claim 13 , wherein the salt is a ditosylate salt.

23 . A method as claimed in claim 13 , wherein the salt is a phosphate salt.

24 . A method as claimed in claim 13 , wherein the salt is a dixinafoate salt.

25 . A method as claimed in claim 13 , wherein the salt is a sulfate salt.
