Abstract

An automatic system for anti-roll stabilization of watercraft, comprising, a stabilizing fin that can turn about an axis, an actuator assembly, designed to govern rotation of said fin about said axis, and a regulating system, designed to govern said actuator assembly as a function of signals indicating rolling of the watercraft. Said actuator assembly comprises an electric motor connected to said stabilizing fin.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . An automatic system for anti-roll stabilization of watercraft, comprising:
a stabilizing fin that can turn about an axis; an actuator assembly, designed to govern rotation of said fin about said axis; and a regulating system, designed to govern said actuator assembly as a function of signals indicating rolling of the watercraft, wherein said actuator assembly comprises an electric motor connected to said stabilizing fin.

2 . The system according to claim 1 , wherein said regulating system comprises:
a sensor designed to supply a signal indicating rolling of the watercraft; a microprocessor regulating unit, designed to process the data on rolling of the watercraft supplied by said sensor; and a driving unit for governing said electric motor.

3 . The system according to claim 2 , wherein said regulating system is arranged for carrying out control of the angular position of the stabilizing fin by means of an encoder associated to said electric motor.

4 . The system according to claim 2 , wherein the regulating system is arranged for controlling one or more of the following operating parameters of the electric motor: power, torque, speed, position, electrical power input, load.

5 . The system according to claim 1 , wherein said electric motor is a permanent-magnet d.c. motor.

6 . The system according to claim 1 , wherein said electric motor is connected to said stabilizing fin via a reduction gear.
