Abstract

A numerical control device includes a substrate, an adjusting unit, a machine tool, a workpiece holder, a distance measuring component and a control unit. The adjusting unit is movably positioned on the substrate. The machine tool is positioned on one side of the adjusting unit and has a distal end. The workpiece holder is positioned on the substrate and faces the machine tool. The distance measuring component is aligned with the machine tool and the workpiece holder. The control unit is electrically coupled to the distance measuring component and the adjusting unit.

1 . A numerical control device for machining a workpiece, comprising:
 a substrate;   an adjusting unit movably positioned on the substrate;   a machine tool positioned on one side of the adjusting unit and having a distal end;   a workpiece holder positioned on the substrate and facing the machine tool;   a distance measuring component aligned with the machine tool and the workpiece holder and configured to measure a distance “c” between the distance measuring component and the workpiece; and   a control unit electrically coupled to the distance measuring component and the adjusting unit, wherein the control unit is configured to calculate a distance “a” between the distal end and the workpiece based on measurement of the distance “c” received from the distance measuring component and measurement of a distance “b” between the distance measuring component and the distal end, and control the adjusting unit to move the machine tool to contact the workpiece.   
   
   
       2 . The numerical control device of  claim 1 , wherein the measurement of the distance “a” is pre-stored in the control unit. 
   
   
       3 . The numerical control device of  claim 1 , wherein the adjusting unit comprises a linear driver. 
   
   
       4 . The numerical control device of  claim 1 , wherein the machine tool is a drill, a saw, a router, or a cutter. 
   
   
       5 . The numerical control device of  claim 1 , wherein the distance measuring component is positioned on a top portion of the adjusting unit. 
   
   
       6 . The numerical control device of  claim 1 , wherein the distance measuring component is a laser distance measuring component.
