Abstract

A method of identifying a test-taker is disclosed. The method includes the step of sampling a biometric characteristic of the test-taker, and may include the step of sampling a second biometric characteristic of the test-taker. The method may include the step of identifying the test administrator by sampling a biometric characteristic of the test administrator. A method of authorizing the administration of a test is also disclosed.

         24 . A method of identifying a person in a healthcare related transaction, including the steps of:
 (a) measuring a static biometric parameter from a person;   (b) measuring a dynamic biometric parameter from the person at a first location in a finger region of the person at the same time the static parameter is being measured;   (c) generating an identifier;   (d) capturing the static biometric parameter and the dynamic biometric parameter measured at the first location;   (e) capturing a visual representation of the person's facial characteristics while the static biometric parameter and the dynamic biometric parameter are being measured; and   (f) associating the static biometric parameter, the dynamic biometric parameter, the randomly generated identifier and the visual representation to create a unique dataset.   
     
     
         25 . A method as recited in  claim 24  wherein the visual representation is further associated with the date and time at which the static biometric parameter and the dynamic biometric parameter were captured. 
     
     
         26 . A method as recited in  claim 24  wherein the dynamic biometric parameter being measured includes a pulse measurement. 
     
     
         27 . A method as recited in  claim 24  wherein the static biometric parameter being measured includes fingerprint data. 
     
     
         28 . A method as recited in  claim 27  where the fingerprint data is measured on the same finger of the person from which the static biometric measurement is taken. 
     
     
         29 . A method as recited in  claim 24  wherein the static biometric parameter being measured includes a retinal scan. 
     
     
         30 . A method as recited in  claim 24  further including the step of capturing a valid identification of the person. 
     
     
         31 . A method as recited in  claim 30  where the valid identification of the person is associated with the static biometric parameter, the dynamic biometric parameter, the identifier and the visual representation. 
     
     
         32 . A method as recited in  claim 24  wherein the identifier is a randomly generated alphanumeric number. 
     
     
         33 . A method as recited in  claim 24  wherein the identifier is captured along with the person's facial characteristics in the visual representation. 
     
     
         34 . A method of identifying a person in a healthcare related transaction, including the steps of:
 (a) measuring a dynamic biometric parameter at a first location in a finger region of a person;   (b) measuring the same dynamic biometric parameter at a second location at the same time the dynamic biometric parameter is being measured at the first location;   (c) measuring a static biometric parameter at the first location;   (d) capturing the dynamic biometric parameter measured at the first and second locations and a static biometric parameter at the first location;   (e) generating an identifier;   (f) capturing a visual representation of the person's facial characteristics along with at least one of the dynamic biometric measurement locations while measurements are being made at the first and second locations; and   (g) associating the visual representation with the dynamic biometric parameter captured from the first and second locations, the static biometric parameter captured from the first location and the identifier to create a unique dataset.   
     
     
         35 . A method as recited in  claim 34  wherein the date and time the visual representation was taken are further associated with the visual representation. 
     
     
         36 . A method as recited in  claim 34  wherein the static biometric parameter being measured includes fingerprint data. 
     
     
         37 . A method as recited in  claim 34  further including the step of recognizing the association only if the measurement of the dynamic biometric parameter measured at the first location matches the measurement of the dynamic biometric parameter at the second location. 
     
     
         38 . A method as recited in  claim 34  wherein the identifier is a randomly generated alphanumeric number. 
     
     
         39 . A method as recited in  claim 34  wherein the identifier is captured along with the person's facial characteristics in the visual representation. 
     
     
         40 . A method as recited in  claim 34  further including the step of capturing a valid identification of the person. 
     
     
         41 . A method as recited in  claim 40  where the valid identification of the person is associated with the static biometric parameter, the dynamic biometric parameter, the identifier and the visual representation. 
     
     
         42 . A method of identifying a person in a healthcare related transaction, including the steps of:
 (a) measuring dynamic biometric parameter from a person at a first location proximal to a finger of the person during a first period of time;   (b) measuring the same dynamic biometric parameter at a second location of the person at the same time the dynamic biometric parameter is being measured at the first location, the second location being spaced from the first location;   (c) recording static information from the finger at the same time the dynamic biometric measurement is being taken at the first and second locations;   (d) photographing the facial characteristics of the person along with at least the second dynamic biometric measurement location while measurements are being made at the first and second locations;   (e) generating a random identifier;   (f) associating the photograph with the random identifier and with information based upon data captured from the first and second locations to create a unique dataset; and   (g) measuring the static fingerprint information subsequent to the first period of time and utilizing the unique dataset to confirm that the static fingerprint information taken at the subsequent time is from the same person from whom the static fingerprint information was recorded during the first period of time.   
     
     
         43 . A method as recited in  claim 42  wherein data related to the date and time the photograph was taken during the first time period is associated with the photograph and used to create a unique dataset, and the unique dataset is used to insure that the static fingerprint information taken at the subsequent time is from the same person from whom the fingerprint information was taken during the first period of time.
