Contoured artwork

Abstract

A contoured framed artwork comprises a picture frame surrounding a support member. The support member is a three-dimensional support member that has a raised, carved, or contoured portion surrounding a planar portion. A two-dimensional artwork is adhered to the planar portion, The support member includes a coating the provides an appearance of plaster or metal, or the like. A variety of different prints can be adhered to the planar portion of the support member to allow the support member to be used with a variety of different artworks.

         11 . A method of forming a three-dimensional artwork with a two-dimensional insert comprising:
 forming a one-piece plastic support member by forming a raised portion and a two-dimensional artwork support portion extended inwardly from said raised portion;   wherein said raised portion and said two-dimensional artwork support portion are integral with each other and said raised portion surrounds said two-dimensional artwork support portion;   adhering a sheet of two-dimensional artwork to said two-dimensional artwork support portion; and   encasing said support member with a picture frame.   
     
     
         12 . The method claimed in  claim 11  further comprising coating said support member with a decorative coating. 
     
     
         13 . The method claimed in  claim 11  further comprising positioning a pane of glass between said support member and said picture frame. 
     
     
         14 . The method claimed in  claim 11  wherein said plastic support member is vacuum formed. 
     
     
         15 . In combination a two-dimensional first sheet of artwork and an artwork support, said artwork support consisting of a single integral one-piece plastic member and an optional coating, said artwork support having a raised portion surrounding a first planar two-dimensional artwork support portion;
 a sheet of artwork adhered to said support member.   
     
     
         16 . The combination claimed in  claim 15  wherein said two-dimensional artwork support portion is a continuous planar panel. 
     
     
         17 . The combination claimed in  claim 15  further comprising a second planar two-dimensional artwork support portion and a second sheet of artwork adhered to said second two-dimensional artwork support portion. 
     
     
         18 . A three-dimensional artwork comprising a peripheral raised circumferential frame;
 a support member comprising an integral one-piece panel extended from near internal edges of said frame;   said integral one-piece panel having an integral first print member support and integral raised portions surrounding said first print member support;   a first flexible print member fixed to said print member support portion of said support member, said print member comprising a two-dimensional artwork.   
     
     
         19 . The three-dimensional artwork claimed in  claim 18  wherein said print member has an edge portion which abuts against said raised portion and wherein said raised portion surrounds said print member.
