Abstract
An instructional ball having a football-shaped body shaped as an ellipsoid having a longitudinal axis and a generally circular transverse cross section and a core.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An instructional ball comprising:
a football-shaped body shaped as an ellipsoid having a longitudinal axis and a generally circular transverse cross section; and a core.
2 . The ball as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the core of the ball is selected group consisting of plastic cork, rubber, and a combination thereof.
3 . The ball as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising an outer core.
4 . The ball as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the core is in the center of the body.
5 . The ball as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the body is covered with two pieces of leather that are stitched together using 108 stitches of thread.
6 . The ball as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the ball is about 5 ounces in weight.
7 . The ball as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the ball has a cross section substantially similar to that of a regulation baseball.
8 . A method for improving a pitcher's ability to throw a ball in a sport comprising:
providing the pitcher with an instructional ball having a football body shaped as an ellipsoid having a longitudinal axis and a generally circular transverse cross section and a core; having the pitcher grip the ball; and repeatedly throwing the ball, whereby the repetition allows the correct muscle groups to develop and to adapt to throw the gyroball pitch.
9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the sport is a baseball.
10 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the sport is a softball.
11 . An instructional ball comprising:
a body shaped as an ellipsoid having a longitudinal axis and a generally circular transverse cross section; and a core having a weight of about 5 ounces, wherein the longitudinal perimeter is between about 7 inches and 11 inches.
12 . The ball as claimed claim 11 , wherein the core is solid.
13 . The ball as claimed in claim 11 , wherein the longitudinal perimeter is about 9.
14 . The ball as claimed in claim 11 , wherein the core of the ball is selected group consisting of plastic, cork, rubber, and a combination thereof.
15 . The ball as claimed in claim 11 , further comprising an outer core.
16 . The ball as claimed in claim 14 , wherein the core is in the center of the body.
17 . The ball as claimed in claim 15 , wherein the body is covered with two pieces of leather that are stitched together using 108 stitches of thread.
18 . The ball as claimed in claim 11 , wherein the ball has a cross section substantially similar to that of a regulation baseball.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
