Claims

Abstract

A color filter includes a base, a bank formed on the base, the bank defining at least one target discharge area, and a color filter film formed in the target discharge area. The color filter film is formed by separately discharging a droplet of a color ink and a droplet of a dispersion medium in the target discharge area. One of surface tension and viscosity of the dispersion medium is lower than the one of the surface tension and the viscosity of the color ink.

1 . A color filter comprising:
 a base;   a bank formed on the base, the bank defining at least one target discharge area; and   a color filter film formed in the target discharge area by separately discharging a droplet of a color ink and a droplet of a dispersion medium in the target discharge area, one of surface tension and viscosity of the dispersion medium being lower than the one of the surface tension and the viscosity of the color ink.   
   
   
       2 . The color filter according to  claim 1 , wherein
 the color filter film is formed by discharging the liquid before discharging the droplet of functional material.   
   
   
       3 . The color filter according to  claim 1 , wherein
 the color filter film is formed by discharging the liquid toward an edge portion of the target discharge area on the base.   
   
   
       4 . The color filter according to  claim 1 , wherein
 the color filter film is formed by discharging a solvent for the functional material as the liquid.   
   
   
       5 . The color filter according to  claim 4 , wherein
 the liquid includes a high boiling point solvent for the functional material, the high boiling point solvent having a boiling point of 250° C. or higher at one atmospheric pressure, and   the functional material includes coloring ink.   
   
   
       6 . The color filter according to  claim 3 , wherein
 the color filter film is formed by discharging the liquid only toward the edge portion of the target discharge area on the base.   
   
   
       7 . The color filter according to  claim 1 , wherein
 the surface tension of the liquid is lower than that of the functional material.   
   
   
       8 . An electrooptic apparatus including the color filter according to  claim 1 . 
   
   
       9 . An electronic device including the electrooptic apparatus according to  claim 8 .
