Roller apparatus and recording apparatus

Abstract

A roller apparatus includes: a first roller provided in a curved medium transporting path and driven by a power source; and a second roller driven and rotating with a medium nipped between it and the first roller, wherein the second roller is located on a side in which, when the leading end of the medium enters between the rollers, the leading end of the medium comes into contact with the second roller due to the restoring force of the medium with a curved state as a result of the curved medium transporting path, and has on its outer circumferential surface a guide section for guiding the leading end of the medium between the rollers.

1 . A roller apparatus comprising:
 a first roller provided in a curved medium transporting path and driven by a power source; and   a second roller driven and rotating with a medium nipped between it and the first roller,   wherein the second roller is located on a side in which, when the leading end of the medium enters between the rollers, the leading end of the medium comes into contact with the second roller due to the restoring force of the medium with a curved state as a result of the curved medium transporting path, and has on its outer circumferential surface a guide section for guiding the leading end of the medium between the rollers.

The roller apparatus according to  claim 1 , wherein the first roller is located on a side in which, when the tail end of the medium has been withdrawn from between the rollers, the tail end of the medium comes into contact with the first roller due to the restoring force of the medium with a curved state as a result of the curved medium transporting path. 
   
   
       3 . The roller apparatus according to  claim 1 , wherein the guide section includes grooves formed at suitable intervals along the outer circumferential direction of the second roller and extending in a lengthwise direction of the roller.

The roller apparatus according to  claim 1 , wherein the outer circumference of the second roller includes a first region facing the first roller, and a second region disposed on one side or both sides of the first region and having a larger outer diameter than the first region, and the guide section is provided in the second region. 
   
   
       5 . A recording apparatus comprising a recording unit for performing recording on a medium,
 wherein the roller apparatus according to  claim 1  is provided in a curved transporting path for transporting the medium.
